Subhan Allah, see how Allah guides people to do things. First he learned English he didn't expect that it would be used in dawah one day, second he was appointed as an imam in masjid which pushed him to seek knowledge of Islam, then gradually Allah prepared him for preaching Islam this way. Alhamdulillah you see him now, he is answering different questions from Muslims all over of the world. Alhamdulillah we are blessed to have him in today's world.

He mentioned in a video that his father is from Indonesia(Medan) originally and moved to Saudi to study Islam and gain knowledge. So the sheikh is ehtnically half Indonesian, half saudi I assume.
