Great video! Thank you for posting. How closely related do organisms have to be in order to use approaches that rely on closely related organisms? If the most closely related organism is not a model organism, is it better not to use it?

From repeatMasker section alone I can tell there are a lot of manual examination required (different species and incomplete / nested repeat structure). How do people do end-to-end genome annotation on eukaryotes hands-free style?

It should be fine with an assembly based off of PacBio sequencing. More important to have multiple lines of supporting evidence (e.g. RNA-seq from maybe 2 or 3 tissues - brain, gonad, etc. - and protein homolog sequences from closely related species)
