Great understanding of what this text proclaims and in the use of its canonical context.

Ephesians 5:18-23 is one long sentence. Eph 5:24 stands in the adversative and is probably an interpolation. It reverses and contradicts everything stated in verse 21. Unless the Church can produce an original copy of Ephesians, it is a Catholic interpolation in my view. Christian men used to be extorted from the pulpits on Sunday mornings by Bishops to beat their wives. Beat them daily they said, even if they were obedient. This epistle has been responsible for the bloodshed and terrorization of millions of women. Male headship is nothing more than a husband getting first picks at everything and building his life and ego off of his wife's back. No adult woman needs a man to lead her. You can call us rebellious all you want, but we do not need your leadership. Your ideas and judgments are not superior to ours. When you tell you beforehand not to do something and you do it anyways and it ends up disastrous, who is the leader then? Was it not the wife's wisdom, insight, and leadership that was the correct course of action to take? Why not acknowledge the truth then and stop playing these games.

Goodness some bad hermeneutic to reach mutual submission which the context does not provide.

Good hermeneutics to those who wish to be imitators of Christ. Bad hermeneutics to those that don't.

Yea, I am just listening to this series so I can write down the errors and have a better foundation for apologetics for this heresy, it’s a shame how he sounds so smart and yet he is leading so many people away from the VERY CLEAR message of god. If someone wasn’t educated in Hebrew or Greek I can see how easy it is to persuade people to your side…

@@roberthunter6174 Read Dr. Phillip B. Payne, a Greek linguistic scholar. He is educated in Hebrew and Greek and very clearly explains why mutuality is God's intention for men and women, whether married or single, in his very detailed, 500 plus page book "Man Woman, One in Christ." There are several other Greek and Hebrew scholars who attest to the same belief, but he would be a good starting point. Dr. Ron Pierce makes note of Dr. Payne's book in his previous lecture on 1 Corinthians 7, which has 12 passages regarding men and women in marriage as opposed to only 2 in Ephesians and was written before Ephesians. This is not about bowing to feminism. Dr. Payne set out to initially prove that egalitarianism was wrong. Thirty years of research proved that it was right. Do you have a doctorate in either Greek or Hebrew?
