I like how you keep repeating the same information in several videos. This helped me a lot to remember. Thank you!

I’m confused at 12:30 if the secondary follicle is producing estrogen, why would it inhibit fsh and lh?
@luisatirma5010Ай бұрын
Please correct me if I am wrong, @drmike, but I understood the inhibition happens due to the negative feedback caused by the high levels of estrogen. Then, eventually the follicle matures and produces its own estrogen (separately from the HPO axis?) causing a positive feedback mechanism on the GnRH and subsequent hormones eventually inducing ovulation after a LH spike.

This is one of my special interests. Request: The female reproductive system does not end at reproduction. England is the first city to make menopause a mandatory part of education with sex ed and I strongly believe that it should be taught in tandem with reproduction. Dr. Nick Panay and his research is a good person to start with. He has a few retrospective peer reviewed analyses on menopause as well as safety and efficacy of treatment. I'm speaking from the perspective of an advocate for people in menopause not being adequately treated during the average age of death 10 generations ago. The average age of menopause is also almost exactly the age of suicide for cisgender women. Please, Make Menopause Matter.
