I am just in awe of the way you can teach this. I was completely lost in class. When I graduate nursing school it will be primarily because of you. Please don't ever stop teaching, you're amazing.

This is absolutely incredible teaching. Your enthusiasm and pace are superb. This is the first time as a first year medical student that someone has explained ECG with context and it has given so much more meaning to it seeing it in terms of where the positive charges are over time. Thank you so much Dr!

@texastexas4541 Жыл бұрын
Sorry for correction. Positive charge does not go towards the electrode; they actually go into the myocyte. It is the negative charge-positive charge differences during electrical activity that sets up a dipole moment (always pointing from - to +) in the extracellular fluid....which creates an electric field that can be sensed by the external electrodes. This electric field makes the current move towards or away from the electrodes depending on the orientation of the dipole moment.

HELP. I still do not understand why the T-wave will be a positive deflection. If the electricity travels back through the purkinji fibers from the epicardium to the endocardium and it is now becoming more negative going away from the lead we get a bump up? I was under the impression that ANYTHING going away from the lead is considered a negative deflection.
