Q #10: the total number of ATP produced per glucose molecule (glycolysis, pyruvate decarboxylation, citric acid cycle and finally electron transport chain, is 30 to 32, depending on cell type and which shuttle system is used. For isntance: skeletal muscle uses the G3P shuttle for transporting the e of NADH into the mitochondria and transfers those electrons to Complex III of the etc, thereby by passing Comple I resulting in only 6 H+ ions pumped into intermembrane space hence only 1.5 ATP prduced (3 per glc), versus the cardiaca nd liver cells which uses the malate-aspartate shuttle, which, briefly, produces 2.5 ATP hence total 5 ATP per glc molecule. THe answer then 30 to 32 ATP prduced per glc molecue in aerobic respitaration.

The ATP is used up in some of the reaction are replenished with the ATP produced in other processes. Hence, 36-38 ATPs are produced in Aerobic Respiration
