I don't think your definitions are correct. For example if you have a duplication event of a gene before speciation, I think the genes from both species are considered paralogs. I also don't get what you mean with: "paralogs are two genes in the same genome..." when a genome is all genetic material of an organism, you are saying that paralogs are in the same organism. I think you mean paralogs result form an duplication event in the same genome. futhermore, I don't get your definitions of orthologs. I deduce from that definition that mouse-α and frog-β, can be orthologs?

I believe you mixed up Orthologs and Paralogs. Orthologs are proteins in two different species that have similar functions. Paralogs are proteins in the same species. Look it up online to clarify if you don't trust me.
