Excellent video again. Thank you. Will you please tell us why you had to take down some of those videos? Just wondering.

If you have adequate magnesium levels in your body already you don’t necessarily need to take a magnesium supplement with your vitamin D supplement… personally I take Vitamin D with magnesium and vitamin K2 ( mk4 )

I'm still very frustrated by the whole situation. Those videos held a very important cautionary tale about that test, and the public deserves to be made aware of potential issues prior to purchasing a $400 test. People are desperate for answers and they THINK they will get answers by doing more tests. Sadly, that is clearly not always the case.

I have been diagnosed with SIBO recently via a lactulose breath test and my endoscopy has shown chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer and a hatial hernia. I also suspect I may have SIFO as well because all my symptoms add up and haven’t been able to test for it. How would you suggest I go about treating all this, it’s very scary because no GI specialist or doctor can help me. I cannot take digestive enzymes or build up my stomach acid in anyway because of my peptic ulcer and have been told to not take them.

I’m in the same boat. Personally, I think there might be gastric microbiotic overgrowth at play. Were you on PPIs for GERD before this happened? I was. I got my first ulcer when I was already on PPIs simply because of GERD because of a bad diet. Now I have recurrent ulcers in the abscence of H. pylori or NSAID use… It’s a mystery what causes it. I did test positive for hydrogen SIBO though.

Is the test discrepancy due in part to bacterial dormancy? You can have bacteria exist without growing for a period of time after all.
@gutmicrobiomequeen
@gutmicrobiomequeen Жыл бұрын
That could be an issue with culture-based stool tests like the CDSA, but not with this one. This test is looking at the genetic material of dead bacteria (you mix the sample with a liquid that preserves the sample during the collection process), so they won't be growing or changing on the way to the lab.

If we have histamine intolerance and are doing everything "right" and still have an issue, should we try to remove eColi - as that can increase histamine "Selective Activation of Human Intestinal Mast Cells by Escherichia coli Hemolysin" - The Journal of Immunology

This is interesting. My test results was completed 7/6/23 and it show the Bifidobacterium longum as a GABA producer and Bifidobacterium adolescentis as Acetate Producer. Your test is the opposite. Any thoughts? Personally I feel the test was a waste of money. Test was delivered to company on June 8th, received results July 6th, the doctor did not go over results until 9/1 (not thoroughly by the way). In the process of all this, I started HRT so I know by microbiome has changed a lot since test was taken.

Just wondering if you've heard of or tried PureHMO Human Milk Oligosaccharide prebiotic powder? ND asked me to take a supplement that has a blend of galactooligosaccharides and came across that PureHMO product during a bit of research and was curious.

I haven't heard of that specific one, but I've used other 2FL/HMO products and GOS products before!

I tried HMO and GOS. And I found that GOS is way easier to tolerate than HMO. GOS feeds bifidos big time. I always start first with PHGG, then GOS, complex FOS and then adding other ones.

Hi how do I get ahold of you? I need help. I am in a very dire situation and no one has been able to help me. Hospitals have only harmed me more than helped me. Dr. DiNezza, is it true that in order to benefit from vitamin D, it must be taken with magnesium?

vitamin K2 and adequate calcium intake (not too little, not too much) are important for maning proper use of your vitamin D.

I wouldn't word it like that, no. What I would say is that vitamin d works together with several different nutrients, and manipulating only one side of this complex web is unlikely to yield as much benefit as treating it as a whole. Those nutrients include vitamin a, vitamin k2, Magnesium, and Calcium. Hope that helps!

So a very interesting video. In terms of the high butyrate but low butyrate functional marker I was on a webinar where they said when this happens, it could mean that you’re not able to utilize/absorb the butyrate. Still not understanding what that means though!
@gutmicrobiomequeen
@gutmicrobiomequeen Жыл бұрын
I'm calling BS (on them, not on you). That doesn't make any sense. This test is looking at the genetic material of the bacteria. They are not looking at your genetics, your cells, or anything that would indicate YOUR ability to utilize butyrate. I've had VERY hit and miss results with the clinician education at Microbiome Labs. Some of them (particularly the "higher ups") are very knowledgeable. Some of them seem like they're just making shit up 🤔
