The last story…I can’T imagine what not just the procedure was like without the anesthetic, but his final days. As we unfortunately come to learn, the guy took his own life a few weeks after the procedure, primarily because of the trauma he’d endured. The severity of it didn’t hit me until the 48:07 minute mark though. Recall the beginning of this story, when we were told this man and his wife were just eating a meal together, and the day up until now was just like any other day, and yet he suddenly starts screaming out while staring off. However, it wasn’t a scream of realizing something. It was him screaming because the induced amnesia following the procedure left with no memory except the emotions he’d felt during the procedure; the fear of thinking this was the moment he’d died, the feeling of betrayal left in part by the hospital staff’s incompetence. He spent his final days in complete fear of everything and everyone, and because of the amnesia, he couldn’t even convey the trauma to anyone close to him like his wife. The truth that we as the viewers and his wife likely got to know after his death, is one that he died without ever learning in his final days of life, all because some people who already make the big bucks wanted to avoid being laid off. That’s so fucking infuriating and unfair

The doctor fucking up reminds me of how my grandfather passed. He was a well driller a while back and developed a habit for smoking. He ended up getting lung cancer and had to get chemo before switching to immunotherapy. My mother was basically helping my grandmother deal with the doctors. The specialist said that the cancer was shrinking. ...but it wasn't the cancer that killed him. He was having complications because of a diagnosed illness, cystic fibrosis, and the doctor was only a cancer specialist, who didn't bother to mention anything else. We all thought he would've gotten better, but that fuckup costed my grandfather's life. What happened to Sherman was absolutely horrible and tragic. Those doctors killed him. If they had chosen to accept the consequences of their mistake, Sherman would have been able to get the help he needed. Instead, the attempt to hide what they did just made him paranoid, afraid, experiencing and reliving trauma without knowing why or cause and it led to him isolating himself from nearly everyone he loved out of fear and then taking his own life. And the truth about what they did still came out in the end.

Where I live it's common place to just use local anaesthetic while getting wisdom teeth removed. You'd think that would be the safer option, since the patient can immediately alert the dentist in case they can still feel something and need more of the anaesthetic. But then again, we only get wisdom teeth removed if/when they start causing issues, so you usually don't get all of them removed at once, so it's usually a much smaller procedure 🤔

I wake up half way, while under the anesthetics and I see the doctors and make eye contact and they look terrified to see me just looking at them. I don't feel anything they are doing, I'm just awake....oddly enough, both times have had to do with my mouth/throat area. I think it was scarier for the doctors who were doing my tonsles than the doctors who were doing my wisdom teeth. I just look at them, for like what feels like a minute or two before I decide I should just go back to sleep. I have no idea if those were just weird coincidence or if it is something that will happen again during every surgery. I don't find it scary (like I said, I don't feel any pain or pressure), but it is a bit funny to me while it's happening....not funny looking back, but just the moment I open my eyes during it....it feels comedic to my brain. I have no idea how to explain it. I am grateful I never have felt the pain though.

So umm just quickly the reoson why they put tape over thier eyes is because of corneal abraision or better put by google :Corneal abrasions can usually be prevented by careful protection of the eyes. Small pieces of sticking tape are commonly used to keep the eyelids fully closed during the anaesthetic. This has been shown to reduce the chance of a corneal abrasion occurring: and :A corneal abrasion is a superficial scratch on the clear, protective "window" at the front of your eye (cornea). Your cornea can be scratched by contact with dust, dirt, sand, wood shavings, metal particles, contact lenses or even the edge of a piece of paper: the tape is used just as a safety precaution cause its a surgery so they take every precaution to make sure patients are safe well maybe not EVERYTHING but i do agree there should be a check for eye movement then taping instead of the other way around:

for anyone who could one day use this info: not only do you need to know what species of snake bit you (take pictures of it if it happens accidentally and you aren’t sure), if you are bitten by a species that isn’t native to your area or an exotic species, your local hospitals will likely not have the antivenin on hand. it will probably need to be emergency flown from the closest zoo or facility that agrees to give it up and the supplies of exotic antivenin tend to be very limited and on hand for facility staff in the event of an accidental bite. that said, respect snakes and their space and never touch one you can’t identify ahead of time! read up on your local cold blooded neighbors and learn how to identify the venomous ones. a venomous snake bite is an expensive and unenjoyable experience but is mostly preventable. and always, please be nice to snakes. they do not want to bite; they are afraid of you and defending themselves the only way they can. 🐍

Dental procedure. I won't forget the taste and smell of my own burning flesh nor the feeling of 15+ stitches going in. A lot of people said to me "I would've caused a scene so they knew" and that's fair, but in my case I was literally paralysed in fear. I look back and think that I could have made a scene but that's the power of hindsight. At the time there was so much pain so I think my body shut down to just endure it, to get through to the end of it, to go home. That hospital was demolished a year or so later. He literally came in the room at one point and told my parents that they needed to wake me up now because it was getting dangerous. Thankfully I did eventually wake up, but I gave the doctors and my parents a scare. I’ve also passed out after being woken up from being put under too. I was put under to remove 6 of my impacted wisdom teeth & was told there’s no way I could wake up during & even if I did, I'd never remember it - WRONG!!! I woke up partway through. I heard & felt EVERYTHING as they sliced into my gums & then started breaking my teeth that were embedded deep in my face! The sounds were horrific but the pain was worse! I desperately tried screaming for what felt like forever, it was so much worse than any sleep paralysis I'd experienced before or since! I finally got some quiet moans out & saw everyone start to freak out before everything went dark again. Unfortunately, they panicked & gave me too much to knock me back out which made me violently ill after. I was in bed & unable to move much without vomiting for a month - even the motion in video games made me violently ill. After about a month, I thought I was good enough for a short errand. So I went on my first trip out to a video rental store (it was the mid-'90s) & ended up barely making it to the bathroom before loudly projectile vomiting - so embarrassing! I then waited a few more weeks before going to the mall. This is where it gets weird IMO. I had never had a fear of heights before but while on the second floor of the mall, I had this horrible & very realistic sliding sensation. I was hugging the walls & holding onto everything - it literally felt like I was going to slide off the edge - the railing didn't ease my fears at all! To this day I am still afraid of heights & get a much subtler version of that horrible sliding feeling that still makes me slant away from the edge while keeping my distance. I even have issues with video games too! I've played several hundred hours of Dying Light 2 but can't convince my brain it's not real - my character falls/jumps & my body responds as if I'm falling/on a horrible roller coaster! So annoying & IDK how to make it stop! It's been suggested that the surgery may have screwed with my inner ear somehow but IDK. It did give me trigeminal neuralgia (permanent facial nerve damage) that only became a problem when I acquired a hypersensitivity to pain. Luckily it didn't cause visible damage & it has gotten much better over the years but I can no longer chew gum without causing significant pain & headaches or sometimes migraines. This nightmare happened when I was 17 & I've refused to be put under since. Thankfully doctors allowed me to stay awake for the few minor procedures I've needed so far, despite it not always being the norm. IDK what went wrong but I wonder if due to my low weight & lack of any meds at the time they assumed I needed less despite my warning them that I had a high tolerance to both pain & pain relievers inc. novocaine. I hear they're now supposed to watch your heart rate to prevent this crap but I'd rather just avoid it completely, just to be safe. Mine was traumatic enough, I can't even imagine this poor dude - what a nightmare! Sorry for the novel, if anyone even makes it this far, but please do your homework & make sure you have a good anesthesiologist before you go under! I'd only wish anesthesia awareness on the most horrible evil monsters!

MrBallen didn't mention that Georgi Markov was a USSR dissident, who escaped Bulgaria. He also saw, and mentioned, that someone had dropped an umbrella behind him to his wife. There was also an attempt to kill another Bulgarian defector ten days before in Paris in the same way. Also, they have a prime suspect, but they could never get enough evidence, and he died in 2021 it's also weirdly not the only time a defector was killed in Britain.

Every time I watch someone react to that last story in particular, I hope that they talk to a therapist afterwards because of how easy MrB makes it to be in that person's shoes; dude, it seemed like you really were experiencing this with him! Please tell me you spoke to someone after this, even if it was a crisis helpline or something! 🙏

I just was in New York a few weeks ago and the subways were very different from each other. I even saw 2 rats. And also the subways were pretty gross, mold dripping from the ceiling, the faint scent of something gross, and other stuff that is kinda gross about the subways

I commented on the original video. But they tell you it’s “impossible” to wake up during anesthesia. It’s absolutely not. I seem to have some kind of problem with anesthesia going thru my system too fast or or just not acting the way it’s supposed to or something. I’ve had 3 surgeries and the anesthesia has never seemed to work the way it was supposed to. During my impacted wisdom tooth extraction, I felt the pressure building on one of the teeth (it didn’t *hurt*, but it was a pressure I felt build slowly, then quickly release). I opened my eyes wide and stared at the surgeon and one of the people helping him was like, “uh…. She’s awake…”, then suddenly I was out again. It wore off about an hour later and the pain was SO and. Then I had 85% of my stomach taken out. While I didn’t wake up in the middle of that, I felt every bit of it, once I woke up and started throwing up blood. I’m pretty sure I kept going into shock, from the amount of pain I was in and the fact my heart rate and pulse were super low/I was in and out of consciousness for nearly 3 days. I tried telling them I needed something for pain and they weren’t giving it to me or something, because I felt every bit of that and it was the absolute most painful thing I’ve EVER felt. I legitimately wished I would just cease, because I was in so much pain, if you catch my drift… It was super scary and I even asked if I was going to “cease”. They told me they were “doing everything they could”… which just scared me even more and made me kinda accept what I thought was coming. My gallbladder surgery wasn’t that intense, but the previous surgery had me mortified and wondering if I could somehow just live my life with an infected and clogged gallbladder, just to avoid another surgery. I was only really sore, after that one.

so, I for reasons I still don't understand can't be put under. they either can't get me to go under at all or I wake up shortly after being put under. it's to the point that when I have any procedure, I have to tell them that they have to do a nerve block (which also barely work on me) whatever part of my body I have surgery on. when I was 16, they tried to put me under for a foot surgery and I was wide awake hearing the entire conversation of the surgeons and nurses. they were talking about an orgy that the nurses had been to together and the surgeon literally pauses the drill he was using to drill into my food and said, "hey why wasn't I invited!" like a frat boy. I must have laughed or something because the anesthesiologist who was heavily with child told them I was awake, and everyone panicked, and the conversation changed to me and the radio station they were listening too. I have had worse experiences because of this problem but I thought this was the most wholesome.

A lot of time people cry waking up from anesthesia for the same reason. Think of all those videos of people crying after they got their wisdom teeth removed. Even though your conscious brain was asleep your body and subconscious remembers

Couldn't they have waited to start the surgery until after they looked at his eyes or confirmed he was out? And his heart rate must have been through the fucking roof.

Why are there amnesia drugs in a hospital?
@SweetEmbrace2 жыл бұрын
Midazolam is an anti-anxiety medication and its used a lot in the icu to help keep people sedated. It’s not necessarily for amnesia, it’s just one of the side effects.

I mean, sure, the KGB had assassins that effective, but so did the CIA. Granted, both sides had a lot of ludicrously complex assassination plans that failed, too.
