I’ve got screenshots of a friend who actually deconstructed the app and while it’s still scary, it’s all coincidence. It’s essentially just a random number generator using a prebuilt code from a some phone company that’s known for privacy violations. It’s not really big news, but i think it’s interesting nonetheless.

i went randonauting awhile ago and it took me to a backroad out in the woods on a narrow road with no houses/buildings anywhere, and right where the pin was at the location it sent us to was a speed limit sign with a beer can duct taped to it with a REAL squirrels tail taped to the can. some weird shit.

What did you search for? You needed to search for something in order for it to give you a location if I'm not wrong.

Thing is, with an app like this sending people to random locations, some people are going to find some weird shit. There's going to be at least a few true weird cases of people stumbling into things like those stories were about. It's just unclear on whether most of those people are the ones who actually did or not.

Everytime I went randonauting it sent me to bunk locations. I did see some cool scenery tho and in one of them it said take a bag clean things up and when I walked to the location it was just filled with trash. So I cleaned the trash up, got good exercise and felt good about myself. It's seriously just a random generator nothing sinister behind it, you can find weird or horrific things even if you're not directly looking for it
