I love how the mayor is portrayed as a villain when we first meet him. He's so shady, and suspicious, that it's pretty easy to "sus" out that he's probably a bad dude. but, whatcha gonna do? he's the mayor, he controls the water, he has the trust of some people he manipulates. He perfectly encapsulates the idea of the corrupt politician as the main threat, but one you can't take head on at first, and have to be clever and amicable to avoid being found out that you're against him.
@Maludosgatos2 жыл бұрын
I also find it pretty awesome how he's a tortoise, an earth turtle that can go long long LONG time without water. He of all animals is the one who needs least water in comparison to all other animals and yet is the one who controls it.

@@Maludosgatos That is an excellent point, I had not thought of that! I would have also lived to see a version where the secretary fox was the true villain behind it as she could be like a sly fox. The little exchange she has with beans at the tailor could be because she's the only person who has not given up her land. Maybe she is a red herring if you didn't immediately suspect the mayor as the villain. I'm still very satisfied with how they made the slow meticulous tortoise who can technically live up to 250 years be the antagonist.

It's just that one- As it's been said, this shit ain't marketable. Hence why these near photo realistic styles of CGI styles are usually pretty costly if it comes to making smth profitable. Not to mention a movie like the Incredibles with a simple design philosophy and tone. I'd also like to point out the intricate details in that movie are actually pretty fucking great if you look closely enough. Add in Toy Story 4. These examples are just shit you'd probably say have bad animation, no, it's not bad animation. You don't like their design philosophy which is an entirely different argument.

The amount of passion, care and attention for detail in this movie is mesmerizing. From the crew actually acting the scenes, stellar voice cast, from the research on the creatures, on top of those very heavily detailed designs. The height of the era of the Westerns is long, long gone, yes. But the concept of the Western is still very much alive. As long as stories are being told, Westerns will exist.

Rattlesnake Jake is one of the coolest characters. A badass design topped off with Bill Nighy giving his character life with his iconic voice.

Rango is one of those movies that even though technology gets better and thus better looking movies still manages to stand up against the flow of time looking honestly still really good! The literal hair on the characters looks better than modern movie attempts at hair, which says a lot.

Bro, idk why, but I have replayed pig playing the guitar at the start of the episode over and over again. I just can't help myself to listen to it.

I really love the one character that would say super lucid things, but just never really connect it to anything/or just have no one acknowledge what he said

When i was little I refused to watch this bc I thought it was boring. But then i was stuck on an hour long field trip and this is the only dvd they had on the coach bus. Changed my whole perspective on it. 10/10 would erase my memory to watch again.

that's a case of "the thing"-phenomenon. movie is forgotten, shortly after its release, but remembered as a cult-classic, years after.

I'm with Bionic Pig completely, especially on the bit about how you do not really appreciate this movie as a kid. I had the chance to actually watch it in theaters but remember leaving with mixed thoughts (and only really loving the singing owls) and just last week I rewatched it and absolutely love everything about the film! Is is indeed a masterpiece, beautifully animated with deep messages and themes, clever character design, and with a wonderful balance of humor and seriousness. Now it is one of my absolute favorites 😍💜!

I rewatched Rango for like the 100th time a few days ago and I'm so happy to see more appreciation to this amazing movie, in a way this even redefined the Western Genre, while most Westerns are about self-redemption this is more about self-identity, and I totally didn't steal that point from another KZbinr I forgot the name of

I played a Rango game for the X-Box 360 when I was little, in the game you were playing through make believe stories that Rango made up, like a stolen water train, going through the badlands taking down the Jenkins Brothers, there was even a stealth level where you sneak around a human trailer. Really underated game, have seen no mention of it online, it and the movie pretty much defined a big part of my childhood.

my dad had this movie downloaded into our family iPad and i’ve watched so many times. it has become my favorite movie ever and even though i didn’t understand a huge chunk of it when i was younger, its message still shine through. i think it’s really important to not “baby-fy” content for children. just cuz something is catered to kids doesn’t mean it shouldn’t have meaningful themes, unconventional visuals, and a storyline that adults can appreciate too. 20/10 amazing and horrendously underrated movie *chef’s kiss* i can go on for days about this movie but i’ll spare everyone the hassle

Hands down one of if not the best of Johnny Depp character acting. Dude even IRL acted out scenes to know how his character would feel. Dedication like that shows in the end product.
