Brilliant! Thank you for the dedication to the soil which feeds all of life on earth. Can't wait for my copy to arrive.

I make aerobic compost which I think fast-tracked my backyard soil into a food growing powerhouse. I'll post your video on my community page. I'll check out this book too, I have had the same ideas but only told people my opinion. Now I can give people a book to read!

10 minutes in...had to pause to buy a kindle copy. Now I can't focus on both at once. Ironically, I grow NFT hydroponic leafy greens. Trying to get a better water biology is what started my quest on growing food as medicine. Bugs only eat dying plants. Thank you for this message. We may differ on how symbiosis developed, I look up to The Creator not 400-420-450 billion years.

You may want to check out Growing Modern Landraces course which teaches that plants make certain phytonutrients when they are stressed. The hydroponic growing method tries to eliminate all stressors so you also won't get all those nutrients. I am now selecting for varieties that can tolerate stress-- the ones that thrive in any conditions that come their way. I think it's especially important with the climatic extremes we can get these days. The Creator know what He was doing when when he initiated soil based growing 6000 years ago! Check out at least the free version of the course and also the book called Landrace Gardening. Let me know what you think!

I’ve always thought soil based gardening is superior of course but also wanted to see whether hydroponics could be a close second place since they allow four season growing in northern climates and can be done with less land etc. What resources have you seen on this?

Would Brix be another good measurement to infer high phytonutrient quality. Thinking that if it were required on labeling it would be a better (higher correlation) indicator than fat calories etc. on today’s labels.

A really neat idea! I like this - it would definitely correlate too - healthy plants have the capacity to produce more phytonutrients. Could be used as a method of pricing crops too - higher quality crops are priced higher now, obviously, but linking it to brix + other methods of measuring nutrients/phytonutrients would incentivise farmers to focus on these metrics.
