BTW we go hit with a dislike bot again, we got a 100 dislikes in the matter of seconds, when before it only had 2. Thumbs up so people can see. It has nothing with the quality of the video.

So I searched a bit on what a dislike/like bot is. All I can say is that thing is an abomination. It destroys a mechanic in which the audience could easily determine beforehand if a video is worth watching or not. And I find this video really... undeniably good. This thing prevents a good amount of people to find what they're really looking for (which is sad) because at some cases people shoots down a video if they see a ton of dislikes vs likes. Thanks for stepping up and informing us about that. I really appreciate it.

The ending made me very sad. It wasn't bad just very sad, and made me cry a little with how Elizabeth died and Sally was there with her at the moment, though us knowing that Sally will have to endure a whole year of suffering in Rapture until Jack comes. Depending on which route people take, I cannot by my morals take a bad route in anything.

So everything we worked for. Everything that developed or was developing, and the grandiose scope and uniqueness of Infinite's ending as well as the sheer potential of it... ..all ends literally dead in a Rapture gutter. All of that amazing multidimensional mythos that Infinite laid out, literally tossed away in the first 5 minutes of this dlc and this character we grew to love and whom was just starting to get really interesting...is given this sudden left field guilt trip in order to justify all of the above and tie everything neatly into the first game for really flimsy reasons. I understand the whole thing, but regardless it's just hard for me to find that a satisfying conclusion. Don't get me wrong, it was a decent dlc...but can't say it didn't leave me feeling really empty in the end.

@Kiyosuki
@Kiyosuki 10 жыл бұрын
ReptilesEat Obviously it's a prequel but that's not my issue really. The problem is I just feel like turning it into a footnote that gets the ball rolling for Bioshock 1 to happen just sort of diminishes Infinite's own weight. It was only a prequel before in the sense that the original Bioshock happened at a later date...in some timeline or another, as opposed to being a direct prequel and to be honest I thought that was way more interesting. The story of Rapture was its own deal...but to Infinite it was just one of many possible scenerios. Now with the DLC ending, I feel like Infinite's been sort of reduced to being just...Bioshock's glorified prologue instead of it's own thing. I wasn't really fond of how they also threw away the things that made Elizabeth so important in the main game in the first 5 minutes, for reasons that while explained...just sort of came out the left field only at the very end here. I do completely understand the story that's not the issue, and have played the first (and second) games, I just can't find this too satisfying a conclusion because I felt the story of the original Bioshock, the story of Rapture...was basically complete. It didn't really need to have extra padding or additional connection to Infinite's story and at the same time...I feel like much more interesting places could have been taken with Infinite's own story (I was really hoping for a story about that bounty hunter myself.). I guess it can't be helped though with the studio closing and all, but I still can't help but feel a bit disappointed after how grandiose Infinite's original ending felt.

ReptilesEat I played Bioshock, Bioshock 2 and all their respective DLC's, and I still feel that the ending was unsatisfying. I understand Ken Levine, and I think it's a very good ending, but it had so much prep work behind it it could've been a ton better,.

After thought : the game didn't explicitly explain the reason behind Elizabeth entering into this tear, which Booker simply said you don't remeber, and this is what I think. This tear is the only "door" that she saw that can repay her debt of abandoning Sally. The idea and motivation of this sacrificial act was actually inspired by Daisy, who decided to make Elizabeth a killer with her death, Daisy was hesitant of it at first, but was determined after the question "What's more important? Your part in the play, or the play itself?" So good! I'm very impressed by the plot of the Bioshock series, the writers definitely did a fantastic job on it. Burial at Sea is a really great ending to the series, I like games that requires the players to fill in the gaps in the missing pieces of the story. Now, for those who played Bioshock 1 and 2 to the good endings(saving all the little sisters including Sally), thank you very much for fulfilling Elizabeth's wish!!

Ready Petty I guess so. As long as they stay true to the series in some regard, I'll be happy, but if they diverge too much from the themes of the past games and go even more gung-ho, it'll be slightly annoying. This game has a lot to live up to ahah

@iHuzza
@iHuzza 8 жыл бұрын
Ready Petty I guess it's good if you put it like that, however there are variations of that formula that make the games worse if they're done badly. Like, although I found Infinite to be a good game, Comstock was an awful villain in comparison to Ryan or Lamb, he was just a crazy, raving, fanatic preacher, who did possess an interesting backstory, but bar this had no charisma or real interesting sense of morality, in comparison to the other two main antagonists of the other games.
@XXavierTaylor
@XXavierTaylor 10 жыл бұрын
The reason why this is good is because it's all about fighting for that last piece of goodness in the world. remember what bill mcdonagh said. "It's not about who can build the best guns and the biggest bombs. It's about who can become less of a man and more of a monster." In Rapture, the one purely good element worth saving was the little sisters. In Columbia, it was Elizabeth. Now that Sally and the little sisters represent what Elizabeth was in Rapture, the goal was accomplished. Out of all that hell, the goodness was preserved. That was Elizabeth's dream and she was able to do so through the Little Sisters. that's why she was so happy and calm at the end. She knew everything would be okay.

Xavier Taylor even though her actions caused more deaths of civilians including little sisters? Her wanting to save 7 little sisters was more important than the other little sisters that died during the civil war
@XXavierTaylor
@XXavierTaylor 3 жыл бұрын
@@hidan407 It is true more destruction was caused. But, from what I remember from the ending, before she was killed, she'd seen into the future through her abilities. She saw Fontaine's takeover and Jack's return to Rapture. So, the civil war was going to happen. Fontaine was never not going to do that. But, now, she was able to set the pieces in place so Jack can come and save them since she's the reason Fontaine was able to summon Jack. So, if it hadn't been for her, since Suchong was dead, there would've been no one besides maybe Tenenbaum to save the Little Sisters. I mean, I know it's not a perfectly whole narrative, but the way I saw it, this part of the story was about setting the pieces in place so the good ending can happen akin to the "there was no other way" in Infinity War. Maybe I missed a hole here or there, but that's how I remember it from back then.

@@XXavierTaylor bro my comment was 2 years ago 😶 how did you even stumble upon it? Its not just the little sisters, it was the deaths of just regular folks down there. I truly dont see how fontaine would have returned if Elizabeth didnt help them. They truly was fucked. But tbh I feel like other universes was made when she became normal again. A elizabeth who lived through the rapture civil war and killed fontaine herself. The introduction to the multiverse theory made things better in a way imo
@XXavierTaylor
@XXavierTaylor 3 жыл бұрын
@@hidan407 lol I came back to this video to see a couple of scenes I was thinking about and saw your reply. But, yeah. I know what you mean. My head canon was that Fontaine's such a brilliant mastermind he has backups for his backups (like creating Jack). But, still, your case holds up against scrutiny, which I think runs parallel to Elizabeth's drastic personality change to near-sadist with how she drags out torturing Booker. I think it's just chalked up to "she saw the future / what was already in motion and guided things towards it." That's why I kind of acknowledge the story's not 100% tight (i also personally don't like having characters in prequels who profoundly affect the original but were never referenced, even though I think it thematically meshed well in this case). But, I think you're right about the multiverse theory and other versions of this story (I read once this might not even be the Rapture of BioShock 1). There's a lot of muddling surrounding the existence of this Comstock since she supposedly killed all versions of him in Infinite. Another personal note is how, the more I think about it, even though it's a really poetic and powerful moment, I'm not particularly keen on the idea of growing Elizabeth into this great heroine just to have her die so another character she's never met can do what she's arguably more equipped to do herself.

Someone made a pretty compelling argument that Elizabeth could be been brought back. Suchong had her DNA still, and we never see her body in the original Bioshock, even after the remastered trilogy. And we know these guys care about details. So what if her DNA was put into one of those "resurrection" booths? I'm open to people helping with this theory, so comment all you want.

Bryan Egelhoff's Animation Tech Nation Like Subject Delta in Bioshock 2? That Could work. But then you’d have to explain how Elizabeth eventually got out of Rapture. Maybe she left with Tenenbaum and the rest of the Little Sisters, who to my understanding, left sometime after Jack did with the five Little Sisters he adopted at the end of the first game 🤔

valentina Martinez TLOU was alright but I feel like its story wasn't exactly mind-blowing or amazing. It tries to give the player this sense of hopefullness in a hopeless world. With all these zombie-like games coming out it just didn't do any justice. Plus, I don't know why people praised the ending to that game as crazy, it was fairly obvious what was going to happen. Joel's daughter dies, finds new girl, bonds with new girl, new girl gets into a bit of a rough patch, and in the end treats her likes his daughter. I thought that was fairly predictable. Did anyone else think that he was going to screw her over after all that time spent together?

So that directly interconnects Bioshock with Bioshock Infinite. Though, I find this expansion taking away from the gravity and import of the multidimensionality concept as it seems to serve as a relationizer only without exploring the greater horizon of possible events. Maybe this kind of theme is too complex for videogames as of now, or even our modern understanding, but maybe it's just Irrational that could not make heads or tails of it's own motif...
@leonwolftail
@leonwolftail 10 жыл бұрын
What may be the reason why they did this is so that when Ken Levine announced that Irrational Games was shutting down, the canon of Bioshock 1 and infinite came together to be its own thing. So if 2K decides to continue with the franchise (which is likely), then it won't affect what happened here, and it can be a new environment. That being said, I wouldn't mind it at all if this was the last of Bioshock.

Everything explained with Connections - Warning Spoilers Bioshock Infinite Elizabeth kills Booker at baptism (from Infinite) to prevent all other commstocks from being created Booker (other universe) saved Anna and is able to grow up with her Elizabeth (from Infinite) goes to rapture to stop Commstock Booker (BAS: 1) is Commstock and escaped to Rapture to find Sally and rescue her Elizabeth helps Booker (Commstock) to try and get Sally back, but not real intention because he is Commstock Booker gets killed by big daddy, Elizabeth (from Infinite) gets killed too Parallel Elizabeth (From Paris) is sent to Rapture by Lutece Twins in place for dead Elizabeth Because of this, Elizabeth (BAS: 2) is formed of all Elizabeth’s due to her deal with the Lutece Twins And has her pinky Elizabeth is trying to save Sally because she wants to wipe the debt of leaving her (action by Infinite Elizabeth who is now known to be a killer) Goes through game having “flash forwards” of Jack Makes deal with Atlas (Fontaine) and Suchong Goes back to Columbia to get hair sample from Finkton (Who may be Suchong’s Alternative) Discovers they were working on the same project together, but Finkton was more successful Discovers that Daisy Fitzroy sacrificed herself by turning Elizabeth into a killer, in which having her kill her (never intended on killing Fink’s son) Gets hair sample, goes back to Rapture to give to Suchong Gets attacked by Ryan’s goons, escapes and rushes to Fontaine’s hideout Propelled Atlas’s hideout out of the depths and back to main rapture Did everything Suchong and Atlas wanted, but still didn’t get Sally Gets chloroformed and tortured about the Ace in the Hole (something from Suchong) Atlas finds Sally but keeps and tortures her in front of her, tells Atlas she knows where it is because of “Booker’s help (Booker is a mental persona she created) Goes to Suchong’s office, Elizabeth helps one of the big daddies who are wounded and turns good Little sisters who are with big daddy go back to “Daddy Suchong” and are playing around him, frustrated, he slaps one, Big Daddy drills and kills him and stays good with little sisters Elizabeth gets “Ace in Hole” which is a piece of paper with encrypted message Goes back to Atlas to give him the ace, and he doesn’t understand so he bashes her with a wrench (same wrench from first game, coincidence?) She has dream where she is on the plane that Jack hijacked and walks towards him while he pulls out the gun and the note flies towards the screen reading “would you kindly” She wakes up, tells him it means “would you kindly” and says that they are going to send Jack onto a plane and to take down Ryan Hits Elizabeth with final wrench hit, she blacks out Elizabeth dreams of seeing Jack, saving the little sisters, and when he reaches his hand out, it transfers back to her hand reaching out to little sister Wakes up one last time to little sister (Sally) who is singing the French song from the beginning, Elizabeth dies Final connections: Elizabeth is Jack in another universe as a male Elizabeth never belonged in Rapture universe, ever Since Jack is Ryan’s son, Ryan must be Commstock (Booker) because Elizabeth is Booker’s daughter (Anna) Thus means since there is Commstock, there is Ryan Unsure questions: So does that mean Anna, in the good ending in Infinite dies too because all Elizabeth’s become one or -?

I really liked these version's of themselves and would liked to have had more adventures with them. I know that Irrational are no longer working on Bioshock, but I do hope that 2K find some way to bring these two characters back: not alternate versions, but the ones that we experienced Bioshock Infinite with.

I just played through it my self, I think it's great that they made this dlc as a sort of prequel to bioshock 1, because there are people like me whose first bioshock game was Bioshock Infinite and now I can get into bioshock 1 as a sort of conitnuation of the story.

Sad to see Elizabeth go because she is such a awesome character. But it does round the story out for all three games which I didn't expect. Whoever wrote the story did a fantastic job and I'm glad that I was able to be apart of the story from the first game to the last.

You mean to tell me that Elizabeth, a GOD (or Goddess if you want to be proper about it), was killed by a mere mortal Big Daddy and sought the Luteces help to bring herself back to Rapture to save Sally, whilst at the cost of her God-like abilities? That's a difficult pill to swallow.

In conclusion the entire story is about breaking the cycle of the infinite possibilities and, given how you chose to play Bioshock 1 and 2 it all depends on what the story really is about. Saving a few girls (quoting how in BaS they say that saving a single life is saving the world) to give them a chance at life and the world, or becoming a power hungry self destructive person that will eventually consume the world and himself.

And an other thing, I went back to play the original bioshock, to see where suchong had died but the back door where Elizabeth entered to see suchong die, it was not there instead replace by appliances. Did the door never existed ? Also the way where Elizabeth left that area is no longer there, it's all covered up. What does that say? That initially Elizabeth did not need to go there, that fink and suchong never actually talked to each other ? The way they wanted to end this game was a bit complicated with all these flaws, maybe it's not the end or maybe it was but it was rushed and not well thought through.

what I don't get is why Elizabeth doesn't use that machine to get her powers back, I mean all she needs to do is get her pinky severed by the closing field causing her quantum super position again thus restoring the original conditions that granted her the abilities she had in the first place
@crazy13alex
@crazy13alex 10 жыл бұрын
not that it would've mattered. she still had to play his game no matter what and besides, she just learned that Fontaine's "Ace in the Hole" would eventually lead to his and Ryan's downfall regardless. she saved Sally, ensured her's and Jack Ryan's future and in doing so payed her debt. unless you mean Elizabeth's own survival, I don't see the point in committing such a desperate act, it was never her goal to survive. it was to settle the debt.
@Crescendobro
@Crescendobro 10 жыл бұрын
The thing is though that she would have been able to repay her debt and survive if she had her powers since she would have just needed to wait for the right opportunity to tear behind Sally and grab her from the goons or tranq the goons then grab Sally through a tear and their both gone
@crazy13alex
@crazy13alex 10 жыл бұрын
Crescendobro you think Atlas let her keep her weapons? she can't teleport, she has to create or open a tear and "try" to go through before she's shot down. she had nothing to fight them against, no weapon, no skyhook and no Eve. cutting off her finger is going to automatically put her in that position again?
@Crescendobro
@Crescendobro 10 жыл бұрын
Yes but creating a tear isn't exactly a noisy process, and it's likely they just stationed a few guys with Sally in a room to keep her safe, plus at the point when Elizabeth comes across the machine she already has the tranq crossbow and many other guns too, it would have been easy to open a small tear, shoot the guards with a knock out gas round, then grab Sally and tear off to Paris. As well the source of her power was getting her pinky severed in that accident when she was a baby, who's to say that it couldn't happen again? Worse case scenerio she's out a pinky and can continue with her original plan, best case she can save Sally without dying
@crazy13alex
@crazy13alex 10 жыл бұрын
Crescendobro "Worse case scenerio she's out a pinky and can continue with her original plan"? your talking about severing a human bodypart to get your powers back. no matter how small, it still stupid. I can forgive it the first time because it was an accident and she was a baby, so it had to be a fluke. severing a part of yourself to get power, really? as for how you described Elizabeth getting out of this alive, she could have done that in so many situations in the Core game and didn't. I take that as proof that she CAN'T maneuver as well as you describe. when in the game has opening a tear not been flashy and noisy.
