This Assassin's Creed is definitely different from the others. The sea gameplay is prevalent here, and is quite fun if you like to explore. The main storyline starts off slow, like AC3, but picks as the game progresses. This is definitely a wonderful game, and is a must buy for any Assassin's Creed fan. Like always I included gameplay where necessary. I tried to streamline the story as much as possible, cutting out all unnecessary raids and fights. There's definitely a lot you don't see here, but the main storyline is fully intact in this vid. We hope you enjoy, and please make sure to like, comment, and subscribe

@@beingawesomeisawesome9803 How can you sit there and say that slavery is better than freedom? The templars all claim they want peace and order until you see how they achieve that, and not only that but achieve it only for themselves. Even modern day templars have these people enslaved and put inside of an animus for their own gain. It's the difference between having free will and bending a knee to a master.

Freedom is fleeting and never lasts long. People want to be slaves. Look at America. It used to be a voluntary union until a tyrant made it involuntary. You're taught that it was to fight for freedom and to defeat slavery but if you research a little beyond the spoon feeding you got in 2nd grade you'd realize how naive that is. New Jersey was a slave state.

Because casual gamers won't have read the book (plus, after playing Black Flag, I don't like the idea that all it took in the end to kill Edward were two random henchmen).

@@nitro8611 The person you're referring to is Ashraf Ismail, the Lead Game Designer who was also the lead on Black Flag and Origins. What I believe the OP was referring to was Darby McDevitt, who is the lead writer for Valhalla. He worked on two of the best stories in the series, those being Revelations and Black Flag. This means that the only game prior to Valhalla that both Darby Mcdevitt and Ashraf Ismail worked on together was Black Flag, a game many consider to be the best. On top of this, not only is Sarah Schachner returning (the composer of Origins, Unity and the main theme composer of Black Flag), but Jesper Kyd who composed the amazing music from the first four games is also returning to compose some of the music. Valhalla seems to be one of the bigger Assassin's Creed projects in recent years as this is some seriously amazing collaboration.

This is my favorite AC Creed game. I loved that the sequences in the present weren´t such a big part. To be honest, the whole 2012 thing with Desmond seemed very out of place imo and I didn´t care much for it. I always cared more about the Assassins/Templars conflict in the past. I think it was great to have a game in which the protagonist isn´t just a brain washed assassin but someone who actually was a common man who finds his way to the assassins order. It was always weird to me that we were just expected to root for the assassins in previous games without giving us, or the protagonist, some good reason to do so. Edward has definately the best written character arc, and imo is the best protagonist in the series because he has a great personality.

Jack Marco because a large part of the games is getting you to question your beliefs about what people are like and how the world and its governments should be run. It is meant to make you question religion, political philosophy, the corrupting influence of power and can it be overcome, and self sacrifice in the name of something you believe in. It isn't easy to support the assassins in everything they do, because a lot of Western thought gravitates toward the judeo-Christian idea of a perfectly good ruling God. The assassins say that that sort of concept is blinding and dangerous. What do you think? The most convincing templars are the philosophical ones, like Haytham or Vidic, not the greedy ones like the Borgia's.

This is one of the most heart wrenching and beautiful stories in a video game i have ever seen. You get so invested in the characters and actions of Edward that when they eventually start dying you feel their loss as if they were your mates in real life. What a fantastic omage to the men and women who lived free, plundered booty, drank loads of rum and took to the open sea for a short while... This is probably one of the best AC stories out there (though i haven't seen them all). TY GLP for bringing us this fine game movie! PS: if you want to see another great pirate story i recommend you watch the TV show Black Sails. It is by far the best and most well written pirate story on tv.

I’m not saying this is a bad assassins creed game because I freaking love this game but sometimes I don’t even wanna consider this as an assassins creed game,I love to think of it as an amazing and incredible pirate story and I also just love how it doesn’t dive too deep into the assassins brotherhood, focusing more on Kenway and his character development from a pirate who cared more about riches to a pirate that cares and sees more than just himself

THANK YOU! I have absolutely terrible memory due to trauma and heavy mj use in the past. I will literally watch an entire cutscene and when it finishes be like "so what happened again?" Every time I try to look up cutscenes they include the main part but never in between sequences where other cutscenes can happen and half the time they'll cut out the interactive cutscenes (like walking along talking with a character and plot development is happening). So thank you for doing it right. Thank you for including ALL of the cutscenes and story progressions. This is now my go to method for rewatching. I just hope you've done the same thing for all of the Assassin's Creed games *fingers crossed*. Thank you!!!!!!!!!

As a long time fan of the Assassin's Creed series who felt that plot was strongest in AC1, suffered during the Ezio era, and made something of a comeback in AC3, I can say with confidence that this game has or is tied for best story of any Assassin's Creed game. The feels I had playing this game were ridiculous. It's like a pirate-themed video game version of Candide. So good.

I put some gameplay where it's necessary to connect the story. A lot of times the cutscenes don't make sense if you don't see what came before it. But I put the minimum amount of gameplay needed. But I understand if you only wanted cutscenes, I just think this is a little better

You can make the game look cinematic through clever editing of the gameplay footage. If in some scenes Edward is here, then in an instant he's "there", and there's no explaining how or why, along with mid-mission dialogue being cut, then that's a substantial cut in "content", not fat. Fat would be forgetting to edit out the times you die. But to each their own. :)

***** Why make it 6 hours long? At almost 4 hours i got to know the whole story, saw some gameplay in between and none of it was boring either...which I would assume stretching it any longer would make it. Good job GLP! :D

The song is 'The Parting Glass' it's an old Irish/Scottish song that was sung around the 18th century. Parts of the song were written from the 1600s-1700s, although I believe the first stanza was written by a man about to be sentenced to death for murder. Ever since it's been an immensely popular anthem in both Ireland and Scotland. It's sung at funerals, last calls and memorial days. It has differing ending stanzas (depending on the version sung) but they all hold the same motif. My interpretation of the song is that it's a song for the celebration of the life a person lives, the acceptance that it is your time and to celebrate the comrades met along the way. The first verse also holds a sense of pointlessness to everything we do, apart from having fun and comradeship. Celts make the best 'dem common man feels' songs. Had the entire song tattooed on my back a couple of years now in memory of family/friends passed. I'd say this is the best cover I've heard though. Well done to Ubisoft for making such an amazing game.
