It's left open for interpretation. The interpretation I take: Booker was drowned at his baptism by the Elizabeths, but survived. When he woke up he didn't go back there to try again (thus, no Comstock or Elizabeths), but just went home and did whatever brought about Anna. Then he lived his life... until October 8th, the day Anna was taken away. At that point, he remembered everything from his dimension-hopping (memories rewrite themselves, remember) and woke up, and went to see if Anna was gone

Comstock couldn't have kids, it was when he was DeWitt that he had her. I think she just made sure that he never became Comstock but his past as DeWitt is still intact.

The fact that the scene cuts to black before they showed if the last Elizabeth disappeared as well was intentionally left ambiguous to let the audience ponder that very same question you mentioned. Booker who skipped out on the baptism will possess Anna as his own child or not if he chose to go on with the baptism. Anna could have only existed after the skipping out of the baptism. And also, if Cornstock failed to exist; it would also meant that Anna/Eliz was left in the care of Booker.

So she could grow up with him. Booker grew into Comstock and then took Elizabeth/Anna from his past self. But if Comstock never existed then Anna would stay with Booker, I think.

Yeah I was under the impression that irish people just said "would you kindly alot. However I figured out that atlas was fontaine pretty much as soon as Fontaine was mentioned. Atlas: "Fontaines been in the ground for months!" ... yep you're Fontaine.... whoever that is... Also figured Comstock and Booker were one in the same... he makes that pretty damn clear while he berates you.

The Comstock version of Booker is not her father. He stole her from the regular Booker's world. The drowning scene just erases the baptism from Booker's past, ensuring that he never becomes Comstock. In short, she can still exist.

Comstock was "because DeWitt didnt have the chance to choose to either get bapthized and change his name or to remain as Brooks. This is how Comstock would have never existed in neither dimension.

fucking betrayal, Elizabeth is the Antagonist here, not Booker. the Booker the players control inst Comstock, and he never was or will be Comstock, because he was 20 years blaming himself for selling Elizabeth to Comstock in the other universe, the one that is steril, the one who also create colombia and tell the twins to go and take the baby from the players Booker, so in the end, or they changed in the last door the players Boocker with the pre Comstock Boocker, or they loose themselves in their own narrative Melting the players Boocker with the pre Comstock Boocker (that also inst posible because they dont have any justification to melt multiverse Bookers). so thats why i think this is treason, because from the perspective of the player, Elizabeth kills The players Boocker (her own universe real father) not the pre Comstock Boocker. that or Elizabeth is just stupid, multiverse level stupid...

no i dont think so because the bathysphere closed signs are still up meaning citizens couldn't use them even though they were right there and that one bathysphere isnt the one jack brought because its in a diffrent waiting pool

you know I think the story was fucking genius beyond most games I have played in my entire life. I love the concept of multiple dimensions. I loved every bit of it ... until the last few seconds when they killed him. It's still a brilliant story and all, one of the best I've seen but ... the fact that they kill him and basically erase pretty much everything that you see in the game (since Booker never lived to create it) keeps me from playing it again. what's the point.

not true, booker does live, but comstock dies since Comstock is booker, so the events in the game never happen, but booker living his life with anna never being taken away is what happens

@@msource4094 that's your interpretation. The ending is so ambiguous that you could think anything. And all that multiverse thing is so deus-exmachina that it doesn't make sense at all. I know that all the people love the Parallel worlds and all that, but to me is so played-out, even more when you read comics since your childhood. If you do it, do it well.

The story is a clusterfuck. Why did booker and elizabeth believe that fitzroy and booker made the same deal in the revolution universe? Why didn’t they expect the fact that chen lin’s tools are gonna be big/there’s gonna be way too many? Why didn’t booker try to cover his hand in any way after he saw a fucking poster where somebody with a mark on his hands with the letters AD (the exact same mark he has on his hand) is the false shepherd? Near the end of the game it gets mentioned they could’ve just escaped with a zepplin, smth that they could’ve done quite a few times. The themes are awful, they try to double side racism which doesn’t fucking work. Some of the worldbuilding is awful, vigors don’t make any fucking sense, why are they here? Why do only a handful of enemies use them? The vending machines are so bad, they made sense in rapture since that’s a hypercapitalist society, but they make no sense here. Why are there just vigor and gun upgrades sold in these things? Elizabeth should be an antisocial (or rather asocial) weirdo considering the fact that she was inprisoned in a tower for her entire life. Sure, there could’ve been a few books about mannerism.

Infinite feels like a set up for Burial at Sea. The way I see it, the events in Columbia were a stepping stone in order to ensure that Jack returns to Rapture in order to save the Little Sisters.

Game doesn't explain anything about the twins or how Comstock became sterile, maybe it's explained in the voxphones. I didn't collect all of them. I think they should have fleshed that out in the game

How can Booker be Comstock? This game left me so confused. None of it seems to make sense.

Comstock is Booker from another dimension. He was "born again" through baptism and took on a new name. The tear machine showed him the only way Columbia could prosper was to put his child on the throne, but the machine also made him sterile. So he stole Booker's child in another dimension (like the dick he is) At the end, Booker accepts he CAN be Comstock and he also CAN be Booker DeWitt. He stops running away from who he is, and in that same moment, he decides to never become Comstock.

Booker, after the fight of Wounded Knee, wanted to wash away his sins he did during that battle. But when he realized that being dunked in a lake would wash away his sins, he refused it and went home. He began drinking and gambling more than ever and got himself in a debt money could not repay, so he used Anna (Elizabeth) as a clearer for his debt. But when he realized that he had made a terrible mistake, he tried to get her back, ultimately failing, thus leading to her pinky being severed. He drinks and gambles more and this leads to the games starting point. But in other universes, Booker accepted the baptism and was reborn as Zachary Hale Comstock. This led him to become a very religious man and was soon be named "The Prophet", but do remember this "Comstock" did not have a child and couldn't because of reasons not stated (probably male infertility) so he hired the Lutece's, a very smart group dealing with quantum physics. He had them open a tear in which Comstock (Booker DeWitt) had a child, The Lutece's knew about Booker's debts and offered him a chance to get rid of all of them, by just giving them the child. (Starting to connect dots?) When Booker realized his mistake in giving them the child he tried to get her back and her pinky was sliced off, due to the tear closing. After this Comstock had the Lutece's build a floating city in the sky and called it Columbia, he became Columbia's prophet and gave visions of the future of Columbia and the residents. But he also knew about Booker coming to Columbia and trying to take back Elizabeth, so he tried everything to warn people and prepare for when he came. But he failed and was killed by Booker. After killing Comstock, Booker got a nosebleed (because he basically killed himself), hinting towards Booker's inevitable death. Then, when Booker was going to be baptized and saw 6 different Elizabeth's, he finally put 2 and 2 together and realized he was Comstock. But before he could do anything, the Elizabeth's drowned him. Ending Infinite and starting Burial at Sea. (Hopefully this answers it lmao)
