Transposons are jumping genes just simply remember if a gene detaches from its original site and attaches on a new site ( new site may be on same gene or other gene) . So genes of nematodes just detaches from original site and made attached to tobacco plant genome ( overall mechanism is more complicated than it sounds) . On new site it creates new phenotypic expression.
