Thank you for this great tutorial on bip85. Very helpful. Suggestion for next similar video, come up with a few more use cases and show them. As I personally think bip85 can be a lifetime seed for someone during their entire Bitcoin life.

PSA: please no one do this. Have you lost your bitcoin yet? You've eliminated the entropy of your seed, and there's basically no entropy in the sequence number. So the only thing providing entropy is your passphrase. And if your passphrase is anything less than 128 bits (12 words), it's not enough.

What are you talking about? If you generate a seed with enough entropy then any of the bip 85 derived seeds also have sufficient entropy

@@justh0dlIt's a bad example because your seed has low entropy. And you frame it as if it's ok because you're using bip85. It is not ok. You would need at least 11 words in your passphrase to make up for the lost entropy in your seed.

@@Mr.GoodKat57 the point of using the "bacon 24x" seed was to show how BIP85 works with something click-baity, like bacon. no one should use "bacon 24x" as their main seed. BIP85 works best when you use a regular 24 word seed generated with enough entropy so that it can never be taken by someone else. i think the line you are referring to is an offhand comment was the "if you get VERY creative with how you use BIP85, you could even get away with using the bacon 24x seed" which while it is obviously not recommended, it is still true. i did a part 2 video here, showing this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p33Cm4SLaNeqY7M the long story short is that i created a simple multi sig using blue wallet using only bacon BIP85 derived seeds. honestly, i didn't even use that much entropy. but the coins are still there after 8 months. mempool.space/address/bc1q69vehutw2jlr2j073fqrf54a5m28vq90klphxtkkh4gdqg4pp3xqmkgu09 mempool.space/tx/0dc88ce6c99e7932cef902b24f3888400d12f82e2db05c0b2361ede614725475 if you can sweep the coins, then you're right!
