Have you seen or heard about the Girl Guide way to start a fire? Dryer lint! If not I suggest you collect dryer lint from your home dryers and keep in a ziplock bag? It is amazing tinder! Not wanting to rain on your parade but it really works! Give it a try! Thanks for you insites! Cheers Mark

Hope you see this after 5 yrs. How reliable is this in soaking wet rainy weather? I'm interested how it might compare to fatwood in such circumstances. Thanks for the detailed video, nice one spart ignition!

Bushcraft Heroes pine trees are an excellent source of fatwood. Check near injured parts of the tree or fallen timber near the base (usually soft and pithy). It'll smell of turpentine. excellent stuff.

I can't tell you how many times my scrapings just flew away in the wind, or accidentally hit the work surface and poof. A good skill to have for sure. It is my favorite... mainly cause it is the only way I know lol! But a goodie!
