What lenses did you take? what were the most useful focal lengths? what is the name of the second reserve you mentioned?

I used Sony 200-600 mm lens with 1.4x Teleconverter for most shots and 70-200mm f/2.8 with a 2x teleconverter for most videos. The video of take off was taken with a Sony 35mm lens. The 200-600mm lens with the 1.4x teleconverter was the most used lens, overall 600mm was the most useful focal length for individual bird pictures.

Teleconvertors are not a good choice when coupled with zoom lenses, regardless of the make, they are at their best when used with prime’s/

Agreed, given I had a choice would have loved to use with a 600m/400mm prime, however with limited budget options are limited. I am stuck with high ISO shots when going for high shutter speeds. The sun, noise reduction & sharpening s/w help out. However, what was surprising for me was that the autofocus speed was not as impacted to what I had seen with some other manufacturers on days with good light.
