Loved the way the chick hopped on and off mother. Was hungry too! Thanks for this.

Awesome grebe family. Great video presenting them in their best light. And thanks for doing it in 4K.

Thanks Neon! Always shoot everything in 4K, so it makes sense to me to release the vlogs in 4K as well. I have no idea if it helps in any way... . I think you are the first who comments on it!

The Great crested Grebe is a lovely bird to photograph especially when they have the young riding on their backs. Another great video 👍🏻

Recently I have been successful in getting some half decent images of a pair red-necked grebes with 3 very cute grebe-lings. They were a bit older when I discovered them - too big to ride on the back. It was fun to watch the parents not only feed them but also coach the young ones. The youngsters often dropped the fish and the parent helped the fledging retrieve it. It is worthwhile to go back several times of the course of a month or so and capture images as the young ones mature. The ones I am following are now very cute and attractive teenagers. I noticed they frequently come to a small bay of a very large lake (Lake Ontario in Canada) right after sunrise to catch small fish in the shallow water. It was perfect timing for me since I had nice soft morning light to work with and they were reasonably close. That was a great shot with young one between the parents.

Keeping up with animals can teach you so much indeed! That was one of my favourite images as well. Happy little grebe family :) Thanks so much and enjoy your evening Celeritas!

Great video Jeroen! I´m always amazed by seeing the great crested grebe in small bodies of water.

Here they are in quite small ponds in city parks etc. Are they in Denmark in bigger bodies of water?

@@weylintracking-worldwide - i live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world; Cape Town; South Africa. Been photographing seascapes, landscapes and wildlife (specially drawn to bird life) since 1983 and at 74 I'm still loving it . Where do you stay? Wherever it is, its very beautiful.

Oh wow @@cardinfox3798 ! You have such amazing wildlife opportunities there. I was suppose to go to South Africa in 2020. But you can guess what happened there... Still hope to go next year! Two weeks of tracking and photography...

Enjoyed this so much. I have followed a pair from courtship, exchanging gifts, mum sitting on the nest with dad working hard to feed them, then the newly hatched chicks clambering all over mum. Even got one of dad with a massive fish. I am relatively new to nature photography, but I am addicted.
