Amazing birds. I had no idea they can build nests that look man-made. Thanks for sharing this experience.

i upgraded to A1 from using A7riv for a year . the camera is a beast ! Blazing fast ! its just doesn't miss ! and sticks to the Subject !! colors coming from the camera are amazing(less time editing) ! here is what you need to know Mr . Jeroen . you will need a new laptop/computer more than two typeA cfexpress cards , 3 Zbatteries , hard drives . its a price to pay for getting 125 50MP photos all tack sharp in one subject ! or else just touch the shutter and let go as fast as you can ! 😅 oh and that 200-600mm works fantastic with the A1 !

Nice picture of two black terns. Two adults, not a young one… ;-)

Ahh, I saw the black feet and thought that might be pointing to a young tern, like with kingfishers... Why is that color difference there? Thanks Chris!

Great video, really love your narrative and story telling. Like I have been there and feel the excitement. I have the A7R4 for birding too, and 10 fps quite bit less for BIF or some actions. You my consider to try A9 or A1 for that kind of purposes. I ended with A9 and keep my A7R4 as my main camera. It's beautiful birds by the way. Love to see your next video, and hey... you have a new subscriber here. Cheers from east Borneo Indonesia, Salam 🙏

Enjoyed the video Jeroen. I have never seen or heard of Black Terns. I have been practicing or at least trying to practice my BIF on the common tern, hard bird to capture when it darts around and dives down. The A9ii or A1 do look amazing cameras and give me weekly urges to get one. I keep telling myself I need to get better with the A6600 before i even think about spending that kind of money.
@weylintracking-worldwide3 жыл бұрын
The A6600 is said to have the A9 AF system.... Did you noticed?
@Macroadventures3 жыл бұрын
@@weylintracking-worldwide I have read it is the same and it is miles ahead of my Fuji XT2. The A6600 A/F is very good and I am sure it is me rather than the camera causing my issues. Still trying to work out the best auto focus area to use and when to use it. The tracking does work very well on slower moving subjects such as badgers and perched birds. The wide area non tracking appears to be my preferred BIF setting but I am still experimenting.

Some lovely images again Jeroen. I particularly liked the tern about to feed the chick. I have decided that mirrorless cameras have developed sufficiently to justify buying one. In some respect it is almost forced upon me as Canon are obviously putting all their development into it and if I want to recoup any kind of value from my existing kit then I need to sell now before the SH values fall through the floor. To this end I have sold my main DSLR and have ordered a mirrorless body. I hope I won't regret it.!
@weylintracking-worldwide3 жыл бұрын
I think you will love it Robert! The fact alone that what you see is exactly what you will get. It's awesome! And silent shutter is so awesome photographing mammals...

@@weylintracking-worldwide I hope you are right Jeroen 🙂. I am a bit of a luddite when it comes to technology but at least on this occasion I'm recognising that this is the future so time to get aboard 👍👍

I just picked up an A9 after owning the A7RIV for a while. It is night and day difference when it comes to AF. Then you get 20 FPS and no black out EVF, which really puts it on top for wildlife/BIF. Of course, you miss out on the resolution, but if you're close enough to the action, it's no issue. That all said, I plan to sell both and get the A1 :D.

Loving the Black terns don't get many around here ! Camera wise the A1 is 50% better than the A9II ! So if I was you Jeroen stick with what you have and save up for the A1 ! But it depends how far and seriously you want to take your photography !
@weylintracking-worldwide3 жыл бұрын
I am very serious about photography! But that does not mean that I can afford the costs... But maybe I should start selling some unused gear. Maybe even the A7riv body...
@CamillaI3 жыл бұрын
@@weylintracking-worldwide It's tricky because I would go for the 600mm f 4 first but that is twice the price of the A1 !!!!!
@weylintracking-worldwide3 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same. I would be more interested in the 400 f/2.8 I think... Can be paired with the 1.4x... Lens always more important then the body. And 400 mm would work well for the mammals. Beast of a lens :D
@CamillaI3 жыл бұрын
@@weylintracking-worldwide I was looking at the 400 f2.8 but very glad I didn't, same weight dimensions cost etc but 200mm shorter! 560mm and same f stop still 40mm shorter with 1.4 TC ? I do tend to do smaller birds but I think length is key ! I would use the 200-600mm more if I had bought the 400mm which is completely different level of lens. Screen your portfolio and see how many of your 200-600mm shots were shot at 600mm. So obviously I strongly recommend the 600 over the 400 but check your own portfolio. I only go on because it is a big and costly business. I have no intentions to buy the 400mm even though I could afford it !
