Very nice watch Simon, not too far from my home location either. I was up at Minsmere last week in the dunes on the North Wall, & the Dartford Warblers frustrated me too; staying deep in the cover of the gorse bushes. I got a few reasonable shots though, so not a total loss. Westleton Heath is looking fantastic with the heather, & the drone footage really highlights that too. Great video, really enjoyed the watch 👏

Hi Nick, thanks very much for the kind comment. Wonderful place to live jam packed with wildlife. I'd be vlogging everyday if I lived there 🙂. Glad to managed to see the Dartford Warbler. There were plenty around but like you say, staying deep in the gorse. Thanks for the comment on the drone footage. 👍

@@SimonWantling If my work commitments permitted it, I would definitely get out more than I do. I need to brush up on my video editing skills too, being a total amateur this is something that I struggle with, & find it very time consuming too. Keep up the good work, I always enjoy your vlogd Simon

Great video Simon, Westleton Heath is a stunning place to be. Been there so many times over the last few years as we had a caravan on a seasonal pitch just a couple of miles away. Dunwich Heath is good, but too many people so need to be real early or late although I did have some great views of Wheatear there feeding. Westleton is good for Stone Curlew too but usually distant.

Wonderful heathland and the Dartford Warbler, hoping to go to Arne Dorset and hide in between the bushes and keep the fingers crossed! Lovely B roll and drone footage. Lucky this week to film half an Avocet family just being in the right place! Beautiful ending shots. Yesterday I had a Peregrine fly low over the path going back to the car, only got a couple of shots because I had just put the camera in the bag! Thats the way it goes sometimes you win! But you have to be there!😍👍

Thanks Mark. Glad you enjoyed it with the drone footage. I made the decision some time ago to include some haven't splashed out on one buy with other projects creating vlogs was a bit on the back burner but I'm now full steam ahead with the vlogging as well as the Photography and drone footage will play a role in that going forward. Still haven't reached the dizzy heights of the subscriber count yet but I'll keep plugging away at the channel. 👍

Beautiful, beautiful scenery. My dream landscape. Stonechats are one of my favourite birds and they always perch on top of the bushes for us. Gorgeous shots. Very envious. 😀😀

Hi Simon really enjoy your videos 👍 I need to order some flash gear as I asked you on Instagram about. I’m getting closer to my tawny owls I’ve got the particular trees which they like . Just need to get some flash gear and crack on. Look forward to the next video
@SimonWantling4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ben. Have you considered continuous lights rather than flash units. That's what I use instead. Thanks for the comment. 👍
@benpulletz4 жыл бұрын
Simon Wantling yes I think that would be better for the subject aswell. Big flash that can’t be good for the eyes. I would be happier I think with continuous then they are always on and less harm to the owl. I like to take pictures without harm or disruption to the owls etc. Is that continuous lights what you sent my on Instagram 👍
@SimonWantling4 жыл бұрын
I definitely advise that method rather than flash. Just my personal opinion. I'll send you the info again. 👍

Simon Wantling thanks very much . Would love to do some photographing with you one day . Thank you very much for helping me with this will send you some shots when I get some!! Really appreciate it I’ve messaged many photographers and just go nothing back and just rude comments. The worst was somebody called jules cox all I wanted is advice and he was quite rude to me he takes good pics but I’m only 18. So thank you Simon for your time . 👍

Try Kelling Heath , North Norfolk Simon for Dartfords and Stonechats. Find the Stonechats and the Dartfords are never far away. Lots of Nightjar and the odd Woodlark too.

very beautiful area. love the video. do you got the stabilizer on the lens on on a video head? thx for answering
@SimonWantling3 жыл бұрын
Hi Marc, thanks for your comment and glad you liked the video. No I never have the lens stabilisation active when mounted on a tripod. You don't need it and it can cause some issues. Hope that helps. Thanks and all the best.
