I had never even heard of a Scissortail Flycatcher, 4 months ago when I stumbled across one in North Louisiana, while visiting my parents. Got some ringer shots of him, and have loved these birds ever since :)

This was almost in my neck of the woods, I'm in Texas and we have these same birds down in Texas. I love scissor tail fly catcher's!! They are so pretty and I see a lot of them mostly sitting on electrical lines. The cattle egrets are in my area also and are so beautiful!! Great video guys!

We were very fascinated by the amount of cattle egrets we saw in OK. We get them in the north but not too often

@@BadgerlandBirding We have so many here in Texas that one day after my son had mowed our entire 5 acres, we had an entire flock of them on our property!! I guess they were eating all the grasshoppers &.bugs he stirred up by mowing. They were so beautiful. I watched them for a while!

Cool animals! We get a lot of those species in south-central Colorado. I'm still waiting to get my scissor-tailed flycatcher though! Nice job and great video!

I live in Eastern Oklahoma near Sallisaw. Anyone wanting to see lots of waterfowl this time of year and near there go check out Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge. Just went a week or so ago and saw thousands of Lesser and Greater Scaups and Snow Geese. Good place for waterfowl and many woodpeckers. Went out west to Black Mesa last summer that was awesome birding too. First time that far west

@@BadgerlandBirding ugh smokey 🙁 pretty much the whole state unfortunately. Yesterday for a short period of time saw some blue sky. A flock of about 100 white pelicans took that opportunity and decided to make their journey somewhere else. Looking forward to more birding videos.

I live in Phoenix, AZ and have a Great Tailed Grackle roost right behind my house in a neighbor's yard. It is very interesting to observe their social interactions, especially with other species. They are bullies with other species but tend to wimp out if a large White Wing Dove or Gila Woodpecker charges at them. I did hear one get in a fight with a woodpecker this morning. Not sure what they were fighting over or who won, but there was a lot of bluffing on the back fence.

That's awesome! Sounds like a very interesting community you have there :)

@@BadgerlandBirding it is! Due to how harsh the natural biome is, the suburban habitat is a fairly new type of habitat for the wildlife to navigate. It's so interesting to see how niches are being filled by both native and introduced animals as this "giant oasis" ecosystem works itself out.
