The timelapse transition of the skyscrapers u call simple, is actually the most incredible transition in the whole film. If u notice, the base building is totally different in the morning scene. im clueless how they managed to tilt up at the end of the Ed Norton shot (with the camera staying on the balcony), then hold for the timelapse (when the camera has been handheld), and then when morning arrives, drop the camera down beside a whole different building while maintaining perfect perspectives with the skyscrapers, then backing across the street and in through the window with the ornate grill... mind blowing shit

This can be done with CG too. Notice when the camera first moved at night was at top of the building and after the timelapse shown beside of that but at the top. This may suggest that, those two buildings are the CG models ( maybe ) and the night to day was the timelapse. Look I am not sure... but yes they can do it.

I mean...why would it? You are mixing things up completely, the editing of this movie is pretty simple, the real challenge is the cinematography, which they got an Academy Award for.
