As someone who survived child abuse, self-harm, and a suicide attempt, I relate to Citizen Soldier very much. Life Sentence is very true. As a child of child abuse, my abuser died yet I received a life sentence of traumatic memories. My abuser killed who I would/should have been.

As someone who doesn’t tend to care for that kind of heavy screaming kind of music Life Sentence is amazing. I can’t even put into words how much I love that song.

I’m not a fan of screaming, but a band named Beartooth made me okay with it.

Though l can totally see where you're coming from on 'Til Death Do Us Part. It's not about Stockholm Syndrome! It's just like their song "Make Hate To Me" "There's no another abusive relationship like addiction." Hopefully this clears some stuff up!

As weird as it might sound I’m honestly glad that my dad left before I knew him. It sucks that he left at all but honestly I feel like at least I never had that memory to dwell on. He was just never there which in a way made it easier (and compared to other family events like losing my grandfather and having a family member basically turn on me and my mom it really is so much harder when you have to piece together the before and after).

Life sentence is based on one of Jake's patients account of being abused as a child

Thank you for all that you do. I love your reactions especially to citizen soldier because they have been getting me through my suicidal thoughts and I feel that I have to thank you for that. Jesus loves us amen.

There was a time where i did blame myself for everything going on i still have days where i can blame myself but i can see thats just the narcissist ( my so called father) and yes some of it is because he is sick but doesnt make it any more right but i now i know thats just him trying to bring me down with him cause even he has said if he's going down he's going take me with him

The disease name is Stockholm syndrome. Falling in love with your kidnapper. I least I think it's that.

Til death do us part so reminds me of my ex

Personally I don’t think ‘Till Death do us Part is talking about stockholm syndrome and a literal person so much as it’s that kind of feeling towards your illness itself. Like someone who has had the depression/anxiety/etc so long that it feels like it’s part of them and they struggle and are even scared of what it would be like to not have it.

I could be wrong but I think the song is referring to domestic violence as well as mental illness

I would almost agree with you with that but he does have a point where it does sound like Stockholm syndrome I do get the vibe but I can see how for sure it can be talking about someone who not sure what he do with the sickness he has end scared what he would he if he didn't have that sickness
