Groucho Marx also made a cameo appearance in this film.

42:20. Soupy quotes an incredibly poignant scene from the film Tea And Sympathy with Deborah Kerr. The last lines in that film. When I saw it as a young man I broke down.

In the 70's this used to be on late night in the New York area. I saw the first 20 minutes countless growing up and would occasionally get to the end of it. I was happy to see it again. It's not so funny but it's colorful and has a mad plot. It's a good cast and it's always fun to see Soupy.

Remember watching this as a kid on TV during the 1970s. Never saw it as funny, but it was definitely enjoyable and fun.

The movie was a box-office flop. Few people saw it on the big screen in 1966. When Soupy Sales tried to promote it during a mystery guest appearance on What’s My Line, the game show’s moderator John Charles Daly undermined the plug by making a joke about LSD. KZbin has video of Mr. Daly’s stupid joke. Search for that American TV series’ episode dated 29 May 1966. It is there.

This would be a good double feature with Skidoo, both have Groucho in them. Or maybe not, lol. BTW, Groucho is @46:07, Dean is at @1:02:42, he should have made a quit drinking joke when he sees Soupy flying! Flipper is @1:04:43.

Boy ... pretty surprising he has bad timing here. Soupy should've been on more game shows.

I saw this as a kid (~10-11 yo) on TV in the early 1980s. At the time I thought it was really funny, one of my all time favourites (although I only saw it once). Perhaps this movie should be looked at like a Disney kids movie. It doesn't have canned laughter either. Most of the rubbish (hits) on TV now would really be obviously not funny if they didn't have canned laughter. Put canned laughter on this, and accept the slapstick goofball humour, and it would be up there with the best of them. Thanks for posting.

Soupy always had an innate ability as a comedian to rarely be funny, or have any talent. The fact he had a career in show business was a mystery even back in the day.

Everyone manages to embarrass themselves in this mess. What Hollywood executive gave the green light to this idiotic movie?
