Another great tie. Doesn’t look super-simple but I shall certainly be giving this a go. Thanks for another really clear demonstration.

Hi nice wee fly. I find it helps to Finnish the fly if you leave wing buts long then trim after whip finishing .Plenty of material to hold on to.

I have been struggling with drys like this. Great vid! Maybe I will try to tackle this one next. I have been getting better at nymphs. Trying to move on from wooly boogers etc... Really like how you explain things on this channel. Any advice to a novice? Finding and knowing what materials to use has been the hardest I think.

Nice! That body quill looks pretty cool, have you ever used it for a trailing shuck? That pattern must sit nice and low like an emerger, what kind of floatant do you use on that pattern? Thanks Jake.

Hey Joe, I havent! It works very well for emergers too! I use Loon floatants

@@TheFlyFiend Hey Jake, I love emergers. I'm not a "technical" fisherman but I've had the "best" results with emergers and "low rider" patterns over 'ballerina" dries. When I do fly fish it's primarily nymphs and subsurface flies. Your videos are so crystal clear it inspires me to try new things.( tag on the body quill for a shuck, reverse body taper on this caddis, very "clean" yet buggy patterns - that UV egg pattern looked like a modern art sculpture - I loved it! ) Thanks for the reply and all the awesome tutorials!

I've been wondering if materials like that veevus is better for dry fly bodies rather than dubbing. It just seems like dubbing is the first part of a dry fly to get waterlogged and I was looking for something better. I imagine it adds less weight as well. Do you know what effect that UV resin has on buoyancy?

I agree, I've found that slim bodies float better and repels water. As far as the UV goes, I wouldn't think it would add any buoyancy to the fly, thats just from my own fishing experiences.
