All you "underrated artist" commentators are so annoying. Ever checked Birdy's successes? I recommend Wikipedia in case you not. She has a major label record contract with Warner, had several chart hits. And a not so small fan base. Where in the world she is underrated? Because she doesn't fill stadiums like The Rolling Stones? Many less commercial sussessful musicians still have enough attention to live good from their music. So where's the sense in all this annoying comments? Just to have commented anything? Arghhhh. Do you guys feel pity for her? Ever read her bio? She comes from a rich parent house. I ain't talking bout money in first place. Father a author, mother a concert pianist and uncle as a actor. So she was born already blessed. She got best support to become a great musician as she is, in my opinion. So I dont know what in the world she needs, what she is missing in her life or not. Though one thing, of that Im sure, she doesnt need: Sympathy for too less attention and appreciation. ;) First think then comment- Thanks! @@alok2897 Alok, I didnt mean to sound rude, sorry if I did. But I listen mostly independent music or bands like Of Monsters And Men. And when I like a song a lot like Birdy's Surrender it can happen I listen to it a half an hour or something on repeat. Then it happens I do the mistake and scroll down to comment section and usually there are many of these "underrated" comments. And I personally find them annoying and in many cases unnecessary. So it wasnt you who hit a nerve in particular, was more a general thing. And reason why Birdy dont get more attention nowadays is that pop music is dead. When I sometimes (rarely) put on a pop radio station I wonder whats wrong. There are so many great musicians out there who deserved to be played on radio. But that is music industry. It is all about business. Anyway, even I see the downside of digital internet world with open eyes and awareness, I like platforms like KZbin so much for music. It was never so easy to get access to all diffferent kinds and styles of music as it is nowadays. Once again, sorry if I sounded rude. And yeah let's just say it, we all dislike that word underrated because it's so overused so it was okay for you to act that way haha. As for me i discovered Birdy through a good friend of mine who suggested me her song Loneliness from her latest album Young heart which is absolutely impeccable from which surrender, young heart, voyager, lighthouse, nobody knows me like you do, second hand news became my absolute favorites. I can't go a day without listening atleast these tracks of hers. I know not much about her early singing career since I only discovered her in 2021 but I've read about her achievements and I'm glad I discovered her music.

I can’t believe it’s been 2 years since Birdy kicked off the Young Heart era. If only I knew how much Surrender and this entire record would end up meaning to me. Surrender was my comfort song from the day it was released to now, I played it over 400 times in 2021 ☠️ It was released when I was in my second semester of freshman year in HS so I would literally blast this song while on Zoom classes, and now I wish I could still do that as a junior. Over 3 years already of this gem-and the start of the Young Heart era. This song has been there for me during my most pivotal years. It was released during the spring semester of freshman year while classes were still over Zoom courtesy of the pandemic. I’m now a senior in high school and I graduate in 4 months. I always come back to this song every now and then, and here I am. Year by year I feel more nostalgia for this song since it’s what kept me going during such a difficult time. I can’t wait for next year to come back to this song not as a freshman in high school, but as a freshman in college. Maybe it’ll get me through another dark time. So last night my best friend sent me this song and told me to tell her what I thought of it. I listened to it once and only sort of got the full scope of it. I told her I thought it was really good, and I liked the acoustic leading into the piano backdrop. What an insult “pretty good” is to this song. The last two hours I’ve literally done nothing but play this song. You can fit like 40 listens into 2 hours, I’ve used every minute. This song is stunning. Depending on the listen, I want to cry, other times I want to sing along to it softly. Other times I just listen to it and appreciate it. Everything about this song is beautiful, including her voice. “Sometimes I try so hard to fight, when all I want to do is fall, into the night, into your arms, surrender”. I just don’t even have words. That sentiment is amazing. I’ve listened to one of her songs before but I never stumbled along this one. I’m grateful someone got me there for me. Because this is just a must listen
