this area is not anythng like that now - that film was taken well before 2008, the whole of the birkenhead north end has been fully done up, and the people who live there are the nicest people you could meet.

I reckon scenes like this are going to be more an more common on merseyside and the country as a whole. In my opinion its communties like this dying that is only going to accelerate this as these families are re-deployed to other streets/estates and bring their kids with them, these kids spread their bad influence to the ones who otherwise might have turned out ok, well intentioned, responsable parents. I KNOW THERE ARE GOOD FAMILIES TOO, some trapped financially and some happy where they live.

I lived in Buccleuch St. , happiest days of my life ! (1955-69) Then we moved to the Noccy, I left when i was 17 , to join the R.A.F.My name was Monica Summerfield , btw , if anyone remembers me , i would love to get in touch, i live in Devon now.

Belfast has river streets as well, Dee, Mersey, Wye, Humber, solway, Avon, tern, Ribble, Severn, Frome, Welland, Tamar and Connswater all located in East Belfast near the shipyard
