My take on this ppf and coating stuff is that if you have your dream car and want to keep it like "pudhu ponnu" forever then spend 20-60k and do all these for your satisfaction. I was too obsessed with my new car initially and was researching for all these coating. In the meantime, i ended up getting lot of scratches due to Bangalore traffic. Had I put any of this coating in my new car, then I would've spent a lot more in fixing the scratched and dented areas. However, one can still go for it if you are a really good driver who is confident of not getting any dent or scratch.

New cars comes with bumper to bumper insurance, any scratches or dents happened, get it repainted through insurance and processing fees is only 1000. Rest all the expenses insurance companies will bear. This is not an mass market product and the installer will know it. There are certain fans to do these kind of things and it's the market for them.

After washing the car, apply wax (solid wax). Do it regularly (everymonth). Your car paint will shine and it will never fade. Be sure there are no major scratches. We can do it in home itself.

PPF is purely business and it only gives cascading effect and issues over the course of time. Couple of times normal car wash in a month and wax polish once in 3 months are more than enough to keep a car in perfect condition.

According to me PPF is useless. Get one proper car cover and wash your car regularly (monthly once at least). That's it more than sufficient 🙂

@Muthu Vijayan I wash my car once in 3 days. Monthly once is not regular. Still paint fades with time, head lamps become yellow and OEMs don't sell head lamp acrylic cover separately. We need to buy the whole head lamp assembly only. Using ppf in these places will help prevent yellowing. Also only at home you can put cover. So if you are someone who only travels on weekends are post work in the evenings, then fine. If you are someone who travels a lot and car is exposed to sun light or bird droppings, stuff falling from trees, stones and sand blowing on the car etc , ppf is worth it. But cost should be 50% less. Tax and higher labour costs are the reason for such a high price in India. See the video "mobile outfitters fusion sticker" that is used for mobile. Resists hammer shots. An example of what is possible with just a sticker. Using cheap brands will spoil the car. Either go for proven brands or don't use it.

PPF is a big business now they are making big money . Recently one of my friends did his car It cost around 1L more than after a few months not great.New car buyers should avoid not falling in the trap . Better use premium wax and do wash weekly it gives more shine . Please don't encourage this kind of activities

Repainting the car will cost lesser than wrapping the entire vehicle with ppf. Also ppf need to be removed after 3 years. After that removal will be difficult as the film will not come off as a single sheet..they use blades to cut the edges of ppf during installation..this can lead to blade marks on the clear coat...edges of ppf will collect dirt which is difficult to remove...

PPF becomes fade after 3 years. When we trying to replace then it will peal off paint coat. This is my experience and avoid going for PPF, Creamic coating, under body coat. All marketing gimmicks and main your car with regular polish which is more than enough.

Yes definitely you go for a lower grade PPF It will damage your paint Xpel, stek, lumar All these brand gives you 5-10 years warranty It’s not declared by the installer and it’s declared by the brand And all the above 3 brand has e warranty policy So in the absence of installer you can claim directly from the brand

Hi Ganakumar I Agree to your point it was a tough job to remove PPF after installation in the last 3- 4 years since it was a PVC Material and It was very tough to remove Now the entire PPF Technology has changed and this TPU Film is easy to remove and if you go for a branded material Depends the brand you get warranty 5- 10 years

For that you can send your car back to company to get painted. Hard earned money, spend at least 1 hour every week to clean it fully. After each drive clean the carpets and get rid of simple dust before you lock your suv or car, This simple process will make your car look always new. Happy buying and maintaining

There are some set of target audiance for this. Per my view, this will add more over head on maintenance than it protects us.. The kind of scratches we end up having in our car is a threat infront of us.. This will sure eat our money and time... Its like buying a foreign breed dog for passion. 🤣.. Useless to do, I would go and wrap my car as per my wish for crazy looks or just leave as it is with a simple waxing. Just do a wax once in a year which would cost around 2.5k. During your regular home cleaning use liquid wax. Max 4k per year to maintain.

A year ago I noticed a drop of tree sap on the bonnet. It is still there firmly clinging on the bonnet surface. I have tried cleaning products, detailing products, foam wash etc but of no use. Not much interesting because it's not really worth ...u itself knw about this Instead of spending this much money on ppf etc which is not permanent if u really love ur care purchase nice micro fiber cloth and squeeze in soap water and wipe it regularly especially after long drives etc just spend 20 min more than enough . ..also use proper car wash liquids and shampoo that gives u long run... Moreover ppf etc is not reliable for our roads ...
