@@anthonypreece6447 Ref probably felt sorry for Liverpool they hadn't won a trophy for a full 6 years which was also the MickeyMouseCup. This was the first part of the shitty treble in comparison to ManUtd's 2 years earlier. Henchoz should've conceded a pen in both LeagueCup & FAcup finals that season! What about UEFAcup final? Don't know how Liverpool managed to win UEFAcup & Champions league 4 years later conceding a total of 7 goals in both finals. They also lost 6 CL games in 2004/05 & 2018/19 combined and still won both. ManUtd won 2 in a much more convincing style unbeaten in both, top scorers by a distance in 98/99 much harder format of the CL as well.

1:25 Only reason the ref gives a pen is to stop Lazaridis from scoring. Nobody invades the pitch but the shootout happens without a coin toss at the Liverpool for fear of a pitch invasion. Also the ref doesn't give the 2nd pen when Johnson is bought down.
