100% mate, especially when we went through the whole of 1990s with the FA Cup under Souness and EFL Cup under Evans. Houllier kicked start our resurrection in 2000, followed by Rafa then we down grade to Hodgson. Only under Roy Hodgson and Brendan Rodgers we haven't won a thing ... dat is fcukin pathetic being a LFC gaffer. Imagine, a retired King Kenny got us into FA Cup final and won the EFL Cup in just a season in charge. Now .... Klopp era is upon us.

Good article in the Echo today about Owen's situation after leaving Liverpool and how he tried to come back several times. LFC then, when he first left, and when he wasn't brought back, were a mess and too stupid to get it done. He wasn't that badly injured before he went to Newcastle, and it was at a time when they would have entire teams on the injured list. That last chance at the end is a small indicator of Fowler after the injuries. I know he hadn't been playing much and had come off the bench here, so not entirely fair, but before the injuries there would have been no hesitation or question about what happens next - would either be bang straight in the back of the net or right across to the back post for Owen. Either result would have made this even more f-ing brilliant.

As a Spurs fan, I loved when Owen scored that 2nd goal, Arsenal fans were crying. I always admired Owen and he was one of my favourite players, I always wished we had him at Spurs. I remember when, Michael Owen ripped apart Argentina in the world Cup, destroyed Germany in their own ground and scored a hat-trick. Scored 2 goals in an FA Cup Final, against the famous back 5 of Arsenal. This was one of the most exciting young English players we have ever seen. The season he won the Ballon'Dor, he scored 31 goals, won the League Cup, FA Cup, UEFA Cup, Charity Shield and the UEFA Super Cup. Then to finish it off, he scored that famous hat-trick away at Germany, when England won 5-1. That is why he played for Real Madrid, Liverpool and Man Utd. He scored 16 Goals in his first season for Madrid, while he was mostly sub, the boy was a wonder kid. First English Player to win a Ballon D'Or since Kevin Keegan, 22 years ago at the time. Since Owen won it, no English player has won it. It wasn't even close, Owen beat Raul to the Ballon D'Or by a big 36 point margin. He was only 21, yet was up against some of the best players we have ever seen play the game. If Owen had stayed injury free, he would of scored a lot more goals. When he left Liverpool at the age of 24, he had already scored 158 Goals for them. That's how prolific and good he was. He is even 6th all time top scorer for England, with 40 goals in 89 games. He scored 4 at the World Cups he played in. Now compare it to say Rooney, he scored 53 goals in 120 games,. While only score one goal, at the World Cups he played in. So that shows at the young age he was, how unbelievable he was. If you had the first 7 years of Owen, in his last 7 years, he would of broke all records.

Arsenal fan here and still to this day this one hurts 😔. Remember we dominated Liverpool most of the game and had so many chances and didn’t take them 😮. For me as an Arsenal fan I’d say it’s our most painful defeat against Liverpool and it definitely left a mark 😔. We the next season responded with a Premier League and FA Cup double and of course a title win at Old Trafford 😁 I’m sure even Liverpool fans reading will take satisfaction 😌. I don’t know about anyone else but I always look forward to Arsenal vs Liverpool games 😮 because 9 times out of 10 they’re just pure football matches how they should be played 🙂. FA Cup is always a trophy I want to win! Nowadays fans have been brainwashed by all the corporates and media to focus on the business side of the game but I stick with tradition and that’s winning trophies 🏆. FA Cup for me is still as big as it always was and always will be 🙂
