there is currently a non-hormonal preservative for men blocking a protein that is responsible for sperm production (University of Minnesota) I really hate hormonal preservatives. As a man I would never take testosterone in order to shrinken my sperm production even if it had no side effects. I would never ask a woman to do the same with ostrogen. Hormones rule the body. There simply is never gonna be a hormone preservative with no side effects. But this non-hormonal pill is looking promising. It sounds easy. Animal studies have been concluded with 99,99% success rate. Human studies will follow. That is a preservative I would take as a man, because also no side effects were seen. Ofc I will wait some time until others have tested it out haha

I have the Nexplanon implant and here is my experience (NOT over exaggerating I swear): 1. I became an absolute hormonal monster for about six months. 2. Gynecologist: “New study shows it lasts five years, not three.” It only lasts three years and nobody else knew about any study or findings so I went with a dead implant for two years. 3. My period used to be like clockwork. Moment that thing was put in I was heavy for two years and had to use tampons every day because each day was hit or miss blood, and we all know what it feels like to have a dry one get stuck inside. 4. The replacement implant was so rough that it caused internal inflammation around a nerve, so if I dared move my left arm a certain way, crippling pain would shoot down my forearm and that sucks when you have a physically demanding job. This lasted for a few weeks. 5. The hospital still isn’t done processing the bill, and I got this last June, but my estimate with insurance coverage is over $1k. 6. I still have periods, they did not EVER stop, shorten, or lessen in blood flow. In fact now I tend to have old blood turn brown and for the first few days I don’t even see red. Have fun with the implant ladies. I only have it for hormone regulation.

I have a non-hormonal copper IUD! The side effects where six months or such heavy bleeding that it literally looked like I was dying, so this video is a bit too accurate for me 😅 But it’s been completely perfect ever since! My ex-boyfriend at the time was angry at me for “not consulting him” about which birth control I was going to get because it showed him that “I wasn’t taking him into consideration/including him when making big life decisions.” Really wish I had broken up with him at that point instead of dating him for another year 😂
@TheSnowdogsShorts2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that was a big red flag.

@Jessica Taylor So glad to hear you were wiser than me! 😅 I would definitely recommend the copper IUD. 10 years of protection if I remember correctly, can be taken out whenever you like, and has none of the scary side effects of being on hormones. I still get my period so it also removes the fear of getting accidentally pregnant and not knowing (which can still occasionally happen and can be life threatening if left unchecked-the iud would need to be removed). The periods were more irregular and much heavier for the first few months but everything has been smooth sailing since that initial transition period. I’ve had mine for three years with no issues and I’m very happy. But yeah, the amount of bleeding might be scary at first so just be aware! My OBGYN said she didn’t use them so often anymore because the girls who wanted them would ask them to be taken out after 2-3 months bc they were worried about the blood loss. But if you go into it prepared for that possibility, it’s more reasonable. Also extraordinarily painful putting it in, but the pain lasts for less than 5 seconds so also manageable. God I feel like I’m a walking testament to the point this video is trying to make 😂

@willes27352 жыл бұрын
People have strokes not on the pill too. If you are a smoker it does make it more likely though. I've been on the pill 11 years and I'm fine, my mom was on the pill 10 years before going off it to have kids, again, fine. Your risk of death is a lot higher if you actually get pregnant than it is on the pill. Don't just take my word or some random nurses word, look at the statistics and studies.
