@vladtheimpaler95777 жыл бұрын
"force of nature" That is just a metafor
@OfLegendBorn7 жыл бұрын
It's not a 'metafor' (metaphor). Galactus truly is a natural cosmic force, and it's been said he is the source of the Power Cosmic. He is a face of the Living Tribunal, and a vital part of the universe. They've played with the story plenty of times but his death is supposed to have dire consequences for the universe (in some stories his being alive keeps Abraxas from running wild and destroying everything).
@vincem23204 жыл бұрын
I actually really love the fact Galactus holds his promise and even goes so far to covertly tell Silver Surfer he’s an honorable man meaning he respects him a lot. This has to be made into a Movie ASAP! Galactus isn’t evil he’s just a survivor and I guess at this point he’s growing too old. It’s pretty awesome that SS has the power of cosmic that means he’s stronger than anyone on Earth, pretty underrated character.
@vetarlittorf18073 жыл бұрын
Ikr. It was a very clever way of showing that he's not a villain. In the comics, he also honored his vow to not consume Earth until Reed Richards released him from the vow in exchange for defeating Sphinx. Despite the fact that he could've easily just said "fuck it" and devoured Earth anyway at any time.

Context: Norrin Radd’s original plan was to scout out planets for Galactus that would provide the energy he needed but devoid of sentient life and it almost worked but the Great Galactus was two steps ahead of him, Galactus knew deep down Norrin would never alert him to a planet that was teaming with life so during part of his conversion to the Silver Surfer Galactus wiped Norrin’s mind thus he wouldn’t even remember the plan he was going to set in motion, Norrin (now the Silver Surfer) couldn’t even remember his own home planet “what of this planet master?” Even though Galactus could’ve destroyed Zenn-La right there Galactus was a being of his word and still spared it, not out of a sense of guilt or compassion (Galactus has neither) but he simply made the calculus that what he got in return (a being that would travel the cosmos for him thus reducing the amount of energy he would have to expend doing it) was well worth the price of one planet. This was a really well done scene and hopefully one day if done correctly we can see a Silver Surfer movie on the big screen.
@vetarlittorf18072 жыл бұрын
In the comics, Galactus made Norrin his herald specifically to search for uninhabited planets because normally he wouldn't have the time to search for them on his own before he gets hungry. Unfortunately, life supporting planets with no intelligent life are very rare, so Surfer had no choice but to summon his master to inhabited worlds most of the time.

"One Above all is the prime celestial" There are TWO "One Above All" characters in Marvel Comics. One is the prime Celestial, and the other is essentially God, and even the Living Tribunal answers to him (the Tribunal said so). He has only briefly (maybe) made appearances. He was also who possibly manipulated Thanos into gaining and using the Heart of the Universe (according to Thanos himself). Galactus, the One Above All (of the Celestials), etc., are specks to THE One Above All.

I've never liked the silver surfer, but I have to admit, this is probably the best superhero origin story, this is what an origin story should be like. Not being hit by an atomic blast like the hulk, or just an alien baby like superman. No, been given cosmic powers by essentially a god in exchange for eternal service. That shit makes me understand why he's so powerful. Also, galactus is just the greatest supervillain, they should never have gone beyond him in strength.
