It sounds as though you are having it cold. For comparison here in the English West Midlands we're moaning a bit in the coldest winter for 15 years, and it's 7° Celsius today (about 45°F). And we are at 52 and a half ° North, which is north of anywhere in the contiguous United States, and most of the population of Canada! We've had an occasional snowfall, although the North of England and Scotland have had more. We were a bit shocked a couple of weeks ago to hear of a place in northern Scotland (Altnaharra), where the temperature had dropped to -18.9°Celsius, which is about -2 °F - desperately low for our islands. Mind you if it does drop below zero Celsius - as it was sometimes doing last week - we still go out and about. In some country areas in England, Plough Monday is still celebrated. This year it was 13th January. It was traditionally the date when work resumed after Christmas.
