You know what makes this podcast fire is probably Alia and Yoni having completely different points of view on lots of different things it's almost like listening to your inner voice that's constantly having a discussion. And that's also probably why their relationship is fire too.

THANK YOU for brightening my day with another fire episode Alia and Yoni! Ok so I believe I have cracked the birthday code for anti-birthday people: (1) the day of your birthday, do something special with 1 person like your partner or your bestie and then (2) sometime during the month have a joint birthday with 1-2 other people who also have their birthday in that month (but you need a big space to use like a rooftop) and just make it open invite. The pros: you get some quality time the day of your birthday to feel special and then you get to celebrate with your friends at a later date. The benefits of doing a big joint birthday is that it takes the pressure off of figuring out who to invite, you don't have to be the host responsible for entertaining everyone, and you have 1-2 other people helping you plan it. I did this this past year and it was the most fun and low-stress birthday I've had

this is a great topic. theres definitely societal pressures around it. ive always loved my birthday cos of sweet affirmations from my loved ones and i try to do something nice for myself (this year it was buying fresh flowers and my favourite coffee). love the discussion

happy birthday alia! i typically just go on a trip for my birthday with my loved ones. i only receive gifts from two of my closest friends + my boyfriend :)

My 27th birthday was June 6th and I now live in a state with no family/friends, but I always end up spending the day alone, which is fine! I do everything I want to do and just have a nice chill day. I went to the beach, made my favorite dinner, it was perfect.

Hi!! My birthday is June 11th :) fellow gemini!! I actually share my birthday with our 1-year-old puppy. So the night before we went out to dinner with some of my closest friends and then went to the casino after. And then on the 11th, we had a little cookout, with family and my pup's closest furry friends to celebrate! In my opinion, I don't expect gifts, even though they are nice to receive. Although, I use my birthday as an excuse to have fun and celebrate out of the norm!

Birthdays are fun when you're a kid, birthdays are meh when you're a teen (except 13, 16, 18) and as an adult, after age 21 birthdays for me became literally just another day. I mean, don't get me wrong. If someone wishes me a happy birthday, I smile and say "thanks" but I don't tell anyone when it's my birthday or anything like that. I just spent my 22nd at home chilling, plan on doing the same for my 23rd. At the same time, family members do send me cards and get me gifts, I'm of course thankful but at the same time, to me it's just "Lytton made another trip around the sun and begins her next trip around the sun".

In Australia I’d say most people open presents in front of others. Also I buy my closest friend a present. But if it’s someone I’m not super super close to I won’t buy a present. But I agree it is awkward deciding whether to get someone a present. Since being an adult I have only had 1 birthday party lol and I’m 25. But it also sucks when you birthday is only like 1.5 weeks after Christmas!

Tomorrows my birthday and the people around me keep asking me what do I wanna do and I feel like it’s so much pressure bc what if they don’t like what we do. So I get Alia’s birthdays perspective where she would rather have someone plan it. It just takes the pressure off 😅 I’m stressin also I never really celebrated my birthday in my household like it was always small so I’m not used to doing and planning things for my birthday.

being a chinese-filipino living in the philippines, opening gifts in front of the people who gave them is disrespectful, so we only open it when everyone's already left. 🧏🏻‍♀ but i guess some filipinos are trying to adapt to probably USA,CA,AU,etc., where they open gifts in front of the people who gave them. this applies to bdays & christmas*
