H E L L O, M Y N A M E I S R E B E C C A... and my middle name is Marie. When I first started my KZbin channel (which was on April 9, 2016, to be exact) I had an idea. I wanted to do plenty of fun, but educational and interesting videos. Though I am still working to make my channel exactly what I imagined, I have confidence that it will reach that point one day. I hope you all stay with me and help me make my channel great!
This channel is dedicated to the Most High and helping people in any way I can, even if it is just by sharing my experiences, thoughts, ideas, things that I may do and so on! My parents never celebrated my birthday and initially it hurt during childhood. But after learning the desires of the Most High God, I am grateful because I use it as a day of reflection of my life. I try to either hike a mountain or go to an isolated beach and just be with God.

I love that you have wisdom and discernment at your age. My husband actually commented in the group that your parents have and he put it out there that we do celebrate our birthdays just to weed out those that are ready to cause division over carnal things! We got a couple of people trying to say we are practicing the ways of Satanist 🙄 Birthdays aren’t even a big deal to us we just don’t want to accidentally get connected with someone that would drop everything just because they hear us say “happy bday” 😂😂😂we don’t really do much we literally go out to dinner or an outing that we normally don’t do such as have a picnic, visit a farm or museum…. We reflect on what Yah has done & the lessons we’ve learned along the way… we don’t even do cake because child cake just don’t sit right with our bodies anymore 😂… so somethings are not just black or white… it just takes a little discernment to figure out things that aren’t clearly written in the Word.

If we can't celebrate Yahuah's Holy days, even observe his Sabbaths, or keep his commandments, then what gives us the right to celebrate our own day, which was even given to us, by HIM, to serve HIM..?? It's pride whether we like to admit it or not. People dismiss God's ways but fight to celebrate themselves. There is no argument for this.

I do agree with certaint things you said. I want to mention this in hopes It may give you a better understanding of birthdays, I ask that you Please at least see where I'm coming from. This is something Elohim has opened my eyes to see concerning birthdays. There are 3 areas I remember in the Bible that birthdays were kept Pharaoh, Job's children and Herod none of them were good. As with the world in history and even now many evil things were and are done on birthdays. I agree the day of one's birthday of itself is not evil, but the world made it where It all evolves around self, making it self worship. How birthdays are kept. People come together to praise a person for something they didn't do like making it alive another year, they give them gifts as if they are some god, the person thinks about want did they get or what are they going to get me. I call those days medays. The way the world keep birthdays is all self worship. Giving Elohim thanks as you mentioned is something everyone should do. The only one that should be worthy of praise on that day and everyday are the Creators (The Heavenly Father and Yahshua his son forever ) not the creature. We live, breath and move because of Elohim. Hope this helped you in some form or way.

I agree with you there. I say THANK YOU FATHER FOR ANOTHER YEAR OF LIFE! And I do go to enjoy the day as a memorial and celebration to show my gratitude to YAH. I think throwing a whole party and inviting people over and drinking and spending money is very self-pleasing and heathenistic. However, YAH doesn't frown on us as His people for being thankful to Him and acknowledging the years of life He's given us. The reason I don't believe receiving a gift on a birthday is bad is because it's just a reminder that it's a good thing to be alive. Just as eating lamb and drinking wine on the feast days is pleasurable. People wrongly and almost paganly celebrate the feast days even though YAH done away with the need to celebrate them. We are now supposed to receive His Son YAHUSHUA as our feast and drink, for He died for our sins. Doesn't make it bad to acknowledge the day and say THANK YAH for His SON, and eat some lamb! I'm simply saying, if someone surprises me and cooks a meal that I like, and hands me a box with a brand-new Bible and note pad and says "aren't you happy to be living another year? PRAISE YAH!" and then we sit down and eat. I don't think that is bad. No big deal at all. Shalom 😉

@@MarieYah I some what see where you are coming from. If you are saying that the Holydays or Feast days don't have to be kept. They are still to be kept not the same way with the physical sacrifice of animals, but that is another subject if you ever want to talk about it in the future. I will say most people that will say happy birthday to a person or give gifts are not going to be thanking Elohim for allowing them to be alive another year, but instead they will be praising that person for something they did not do, that is why I don't except gifts, cards etc on birthdays. The way you described it in your comment not many people will be thinking the same way. For right now I just have 2 questions. 1 If someone accepts a gift from a person that is praising them for making it another year and the person that received it is seeking to bring praise to Yah, by them receiving that gift are they stealing praise from Elohim? 2 Is giving of gifts and making of meals on a persons birthday a tradition of men? In Job 1:4 and 18 they feasted drinking wine and eating on their birthdays. Jeremiah 10:2 Thus saith Yah, Learn not the way of the heathen etc Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 Hope you the best in all good😀

Thank you for that edification Rebecca. all praises to the Most High Yah...halleluyah! i agree that celebrating birthdays is pagan. my family disliked when i came into the truth a few years back and gave up all kinds of traditional pagan rituals...i told them that i celebrate high holy days not holidays now... Rebecca, i do have a question...do you think that you could send me a few examples from the scriptures about the consequences the Isrealites suffered behind "birthdays"?...i know of a few scriptures, but you may have others that i did not include to share with my family ...i have a family member who is recently coming into the truth and wants to learn more about why celebrating birthdays is a form of paganism.

I don't have any scriptures as a reference, other than a few. I know of a scripture that says "flee from the very appearance of evil". I know of another scripture that says "be not like the world". That being said, I do believe that the way people celebrate birthdays is Pagan. All of the birthday gifts, and the decorations and the praise to the individual. All praise belongs to YAH. I do think that a person showing gratitude to the Most High for giving them another year of life is okay. I think that if all the praise is given to the Most High, all is well. I think that if birthdays symbolize anything, it shows that YAH is with us every time He gives us another year of life. But the celebration of it like a holiday is where people go wrong. You know how there are feast days according to The Bible? Well I do something of the sort when YAH blesses me with another year of life. I might make a good meal and say thank you father for letting me survive. You see? 1 John 2:15-17 1 Thessalonians 5:22 Psalm 71:6-8 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Birthdays also stem from pagan worship. We can celebrate & welcome the birth of a child when it's born but beyond that point it's considered to be idolatry. But you are correct traditional holidays come from pagan roots & the same goes for Birthdays. It's also related to Satanism hence the candles on the cake. In Bible times the only ppl who celebrated their day of birth were worldly wicked political rulers that served pagan gods. Part of their birthday celebration they would sacrifice a person of their choice. This included a loyal servant of Jehovah God, named John the Baptist. If we obey Jehovah God & his son Jesus by staying separate from this wicked, debased, deceptive world & we have a better chance of surviving God's day of Vengeance, Armageddon. Genesis 40:20-22 Now the third day was Pharʹaoh’s birthday,+ and he made a feast for all his servants, and he brought out* both the chief cupbearer and the chief baker in the presence of his servants. 21 And he returned the chief cupbearer to his post of cupbearer, and he continued to hand the cup to Pharʹaoh. 22 But he hanged the chief baker, just as Joseph had interpreted to them." Matthew 14:6-11 "But when Herod’s birthday+ was being celebrated, the daughter of He·roʹdi·as danced for the occasion and pleased Herod so much+ 7 that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked. 8 Then she, at her mother’s prompting, said: “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.”+ 9 Grieved though he was, the king, out of regard for his oaths and for those dining with him,* commanded it to be given. 10 So he sent and had John beheaded in the prison. 11 His head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother." Colossians 2:8 "Look out that no one takes you captive by means of the philosophy and empty deception+ according to human tradition, according to the elementary things of the world+ and not according to Christ;" Matthew 15:6-9 "...So you have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition.+ 7 You hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about you when he said:+ 8 ‘This people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshipping me, for they teach commands of men as doctrines.’”

Hey sister Rebecca I have a question about this topic, shouldn't we give him praise every day that he blesses us with? Rather than waiting a full year cycle to show our appreciation and give him praise ? I'm not questioning the validity of your video at all but it is borderline being part of the world by giving him praise on your birthday, imo.... Because if we are being holy and set apart we shouldn't be looking like the world in the slightest bit, and you know the world loves watching us believers so see if we are going to make a mistake just so they can justify their sins and wrong doings... Like for example if a worldly person saw me giving praise to YAH on my birthday but yesterday he/she didn't see that same behavior, he/she will try to call me out on it and say im no different from them, & they will kinda be right 😬 so we as ambassadors of Faith in YAHUSHA HA'MASCHIACH have to be careful on how we represent our selfs and be a light and example to the gentiles and the world.... But other than that I love your channel, I'm a new subscriber and im also a brother in the Faith of YAHUAH GOD OF 12 TRIBES OF ISREAL, may blessings be with you forever more my sister, keep up the good work ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼💯🕊️

My birthday will be this month and I haven't celebrated my birthday in years. In the sense that I don't throw a party. I did treat myself with food that I like and I pretend that my birthday is not the most important thing in the world. I don't care if my loved ones congratulate me on my birthday. The most high yah I will then praise and pray on my upcoming birthday and thank him for my birth year and the day I turn a year older. It's my grandma's birthday next month. My family want to organize some kind of brunch at my aunt's house, only I don't want to celebrate the birthday to treat someone like a god, I'm very much in a dillema. The book of Jubilees gives exact days for the birthdays of the 12 son of Israel if it were not important he would not have told us. However in Genesis 40:20 it tells us pharoh celebrated his birthday and threw a party. Leviticus 18:3 tells us to get rid of practices learned in egypt. And Genesis 21:8 Abraham threw a feast for Isaac. So I think its all in how you decide to celebrate

Celebrating birthdays may have been created by pagans, but it's not rooted in false god worship like the holidays. Huge difference. So birthdays are okay. The worldly holidays are not. To celebrate birthdays doesn't equate to NOT being set apart. Even pagans wear wedding rings, but it doesn't make us pagan if we wear them, too. In that case, the list will go on and on. To be sanctified and set apart is all about refraining from sin and not partaking in the holidays that are rooted in false god worship, and instead, recognizing and celebrating Yah's biblical feasts as per Leviticus 23.

But ritualistic blowing out of candles I heard was supposed to be connected to some goddesses can't remember, you'd have to look it up. But traditional party hats etc... I don't know the meaning of... However, even Jacob gave his son a gift that was a colored coat right? For all we know that gift could've been on Joseph's birthday or not, it isn't stated. Point being giving good gifts in and of it's self isn't evil.

We should ask ourselves, is the Scripture our God given standard for living to Christians? I believe it is. Since it is, how many of God servants do we find that have celebrated their birthday? The only answer is, none. Other questions we should ask ourselves. Is God glorified in birthday celebrations? No! Or, is it about ourselves; that is, self gratifying by receiving gifts and even praises? The answer is, yes! Is it of pagan origin? Yes! So, what do Bible believers have to do with pagan customs and traditions? Nothing! Jesus said, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." (Matthew 5:48)

😅Okay, well perhaps you are not... But how am I not setting my mind on things above when on my bday I say THANK YAH FOR ANOTHER YEAR OF LIFE!!! And then I go to enjoy the day as a memorial and celebration to show my gratitude to YAH? I think throwing a whole party and inviting people over and drinking and spending money is very self-pleasing and heathenistic. However, I know YAH doesn't frown on me for being thankful to Him and acknowledging the years He's given me. How else did all of the righteous people of the bible know their ages? When people passed, it was noted how many years they had on earth. Even though it wasn't written that they "celebrated" their birthday, it was indeed remembered. Not everything has to be written in the Bible for it to be okay. Just as there isn't a need for every bad thing to written in the Bible as bad. YAH expects us to use our own discretion, common sense and wisdom. Shalom :)

Abraham's servant brought Rebekah jewels. Genesis 24:52-53 And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshipped the Lord, bowing himself to the earth. The servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.

@@faithhope3643 How am I being corrected? I can't Praise YAH and acknowledge my birthday? I can't receive a gift from someone, and they say Praise YAH for another year of life? Gift giving isn't bad, and YAH loves Praise. I know I'm happy when I get to live another year, for tomorrow isn't promised. I'm not a full-blown gift giver on birthdays. I don't throw parties and do a bunch of self-pleasing rituals. I simply thank my Father in Heaven, and if someone gives me something I say, PRAISE AND THANK YAH!

How about waiting for part 2? I am not saying "celebrate it", nor am I saying _don't thank YAH for another year of life._ That's all I am saying do. I am also not turning down a gift from a friend or family because I know their intentions as well, to remind me to be thankful to YAH and enjoy living another year. If you do a memorial, minus throwing a whole party and inviting people over and drinking and spending money, which is very self-pleasing, there is nothing wrong with that. I don't think YAH frowns on us for being thankful to Him and acknowledging the years of life He's given us.
