I have a very narrow pelvic opening, which led to difficulties giving birth, including an emergency c section for a very large baby. Now, my daughter, who has very narrow hips, has a wider pelvic opening and was able to give birth to her babies with no issues at all. I wonder if people do not realize there is a difference between "wide hips" and the size of the pelvic opening.

Ah, I’d have to disagree. “Baby birthing hips” directly comments “those hips are good for birthing babies” or “Healthy delivery hips.” In that case, I can see guys being interested because they’d see it as a sign of health, but that would be an indirect take.

Then why do women who have hips are found more desirable? Perhaps because it makes the man more attracted to her for procreation? Men are aroused by visual cues, I am sure this love of hips is not arbitrary.

Actually it's because they think that! It's a prehistoric thing that if you're ratio hips it's mayor than your waist it's considered by male brains that biologically our body it's more capable of giving birth without any problems. At least it's what I understand from Dr. Youn's explanation about it 😅

Experience? But what I experience or anyone else it's different from any other person in the world, only the studies who have really made the comparison between hip ratio versus inside hip ratio really know how statistically accurate that is and because we can't see the inside hip measurements on plain eyes then we shouldn't make does comments besides we don't know if a person is shy or self-conscious about their body and a comment like that could make them feel even worse...
