nop. she is cutting the vagina. its called an episiotomy. during childbirth, many people experience tears in the vagina when the baby is coming out, sometimes all the way to the anus. an episiotomy is done to minimize tearing, but in many people's opinions it is useless, more painful, and takes longer to heal than natural tearing.
