I totally understand why she did that. A parent's ultimate goal is to have a happy and healthy child that grows up in a stable, loving home, surrounded by people who can give them a good start in life, and guide them to always do the right thing. Its excruciating, but sometimes a parent needs to acknowledge that they can't always give that to their child... So they sacrifice their own happiness and wants so that their child can have the life that they aren't able to give them. Violet did the right thing for her and for her daughter. I would feel immense pride in my child if they did the same in that situation. My heart would be broken, but I would know for certain that the right choice was made for the sake of the child. Also, Violet did NOT "abandon" her daughter. She didn't have the baby and shove it in a box and leave it at the fire station or anything like that. She did the responsible thing and she found and interviewed the baby's parents, got a lawyer, and did everything legally and by-the-book. She had her sweet moment and said goodbye, and then she did the single most selfless thing she could do: she let her go. She let her go to have the life that the baby deserved to have, the life that Violet (a teenager) couldn't give her. Sure, some adoptive parents are awful, but most are not, especially in the case of an open-adoption (as is the case in the show).

Bonnie didn't have room to talk herself she didn't raise her daughter Kristie well either. But to be honest I always hated violet in this show. I understand she was angry and hurt over her mom being a drug addiction and alcoholic I know cause I had a father who eas an abusive alcoholic but this girl needed to just shut up. I'm tired of peopke saying cycles repeat themselves when she clearly chose to get pregnant by having sex very young that's her own fault she's smart enough to know right from wrong and then she lost a good opportunity to marry a good man because of her drinking again that's in her.
@maygungreer13952 ай бұрын
At what point did violets actions not become her responsibility... During this time they knew about condoms, and birth control and she knew that if you play you could get pregnant... I'm sorry but it's not all Christy's fault, she preached make good choices you seem what I did , she informed her daughter of what it was like to be a young mom and how hard it is .... Christy done everything she was supposed to while trying to get her shit right .... Bonnie is just Bonnie but we all love that's crazy bi😂ch ... She's grandma it's not her responsibility to raise grand babies even if she wasn't a good mother ... Where she falls in is exactly where she needed to be in a grandmas place ... In a crazy crew kinda way lol 😅

I understand from Violet's point of view as she doesn't want to follow in her mother and grandmother's footstep especially that she's still a kid herself especially after Christy imagine what the future will really be like if Violet did keep the baby in the first place. Because looking at Christy's future imagination it doesn't look very good at all as Violet's daughter could end up continuing the family tradition becoming pregnant at a young age.

And so I waisted my life mugging, fighting for grades, getting into university, struggling to fight with the elite over interviews for a C-role and paycheque and getting an executive masters'. Coming 40, unmarried, still dreaming of becoming a full-fledged academic lecturer and living with parents... plus never been pregnant - and indirectly blamed by the ruling administration for the lack of contribution to TFRs.
