@7:43 The scene was indeed deleted from the original theatrical release and then returned to it for later special edition extended video and DVD releases. You nailed the loophole thing. Mississippi law still says gambling floors have to be on water, so all the gambling floors in tunic are on barges in lakes or canals. Other parts of the building are on dry land, but you’ll see there’s a bridge or transition when you cross onto floating parts

I was going to recommend the Spirit of Peoria paddleboat, because I was 99% sure I remembered the paddle wheel being functional when I rode the boat a few years ago, but when I looked it up, I discovered the boat was sold and is no longer in Peoria, Illinois. As best as I can tell, it's currently being renovated in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Anyway, after verifying that the Spirit of Peoria did, in fact, have a functioning paddle wheel, I can at least tell you my suspicion for why so few boats these days have one: As I recall, it was LOUD and WET. You can imagine the great sound and splashing involved with a giant paddle wheel rotating through the water. In the days where everybody wants to take videos of everything they experience, the noise factor is probably one of the biggest reasons that paddle wheels are now decorative rather than functional. That's my guess, anyway.

Thanks for another great video on your trip along the Mississippi River. The first stop you made at Hollywood casino had an extensive display of old Hollywood movie items. I have visited the Hollywood casino brand in other locations and they are all themed about Hollywood. They all usually have a display of some kind of Hollywood memories but this one had the most I have see in any other location. As for it not being a true riverboat. You were right about the first casinos about having to be on the water. That was thought it would be more accepted as in the south gambeling on riverboats was a usual pastime. However as the casinos became more accepted most states changed the law and allowed land based larger casinos but usually had to be near the water. I only got to ride on an actual cruising riverboat gambling casino in the early days of legalization in Illinois. Harrah’s had a real boat that cruised the river out of Joliet.

Jacob, I stayed in Hollywood Casino for about 4 days last year at the Hollywood Casino in Tunica, there are a lot of casinos there all have Boats in the water of the Mississippi River, you are on the Mississippi River when you go to any casino in Tunica. The Gold Strike Casino is the highest building in Mississippi, there is Sams Town Casino Tuinica, and the Fitzgerald Casino Tunica a castle theme with the Mississippi right behind it all the casinos are on Mississippi water. you found my favorite place there are more casinos around there like Horseshow Casino, Isle Casino, and Jack Pot Casino, all on the Mississippi River. Great place to spend a few days Casino Hopping and Gold Strike and Fitz both have Buffets.
