В штате агентства более 30 000 сотрудников: это по 5 человек на каждый квадратный километр предполагаемой территории Палестины. Для сравнения, в Управлении верховного комиссара ООН по делам беженцев (UNHCR), организации, которая занимается вообще всеми беженцами в мире (кроме палестинских), сотрудников в 2 раза меньше. Текущий официальный бюджет БАПОР - около 2,5 млрд долларов в год, при том что весь бюджет ООН составляет около 4 млрд долларов. Зарплаты персонала агентства сюда не входят - они выплачиваются напрямую из бюджета ООН. Цифры и пропорции совершенно фантастические. Заявляемые благородные цели - образование (52% средств), здравоохранение (19%), социальная защита (10%) и «финансирование предприятий» на оставшиеся пару сотен миллионов ежегодно, на протяжении десятилетий. Казалось бы, каждый палестинский беженец давно должен быть блестяще образованным, здоровым, социально защищенным миллионером и иметь виллу в Дубае. А Палестинская автономия и сектор Газа должны лучиться благополучием покруче Эмиратов. Но не тут-то было. Решить проблемы палестинских беженцев все никак не удается. Видимо, сионисты не дают сбыться мечте. Немного истории. БАПОР было учреждено в 1949 году в соответствии с резолюцией 302(IV) ООН для оказания гуманитарной помощи палестинским беженцам, появившимся после арабо-израильской войны 1948 года. Таких беженцев тогда было около 750 000 человек. Логично предположить, что сегодня эта цифра должна быть равна нулю - в других подобных случаях, когда происходило послевоенное и постколониальное переустройство мира, с возникновением новых государств или переделом границ, гораздо большие массы беженцев оказывались интегрированы в рамках новых реалий. Так, после раздела другой бывшей британской колонии на Индийский Союз и Пакистан в 1947 году появилось около 18 млн беженцев. При всем драматизме ситуации, где сложнейшим образом переплелись национальная, религиозная и сословная составляющие, проблема была урегулирована. Более близкий нам пример: после Второй мировой войны массы этнических поляков переместились из западной Белоруссии и Украины в Польшу, а этнические немцы переместились из бывшей Пруссии, ставшей территорией Польши и России, в Германию. Никто из них, тем более их потомков, давным-давно не является беженцем. Так или иначе удалось решить и серьезнейшие проблемы миллионов беженцев из Уганды, Руанды, Бурунди, Анголы, Индонезии и бывшей Югославии уже в 1990-е годы. Сегодня беженцев из этих стран не существует - они интегрировались в нормальную жизнь в новых условиях. С палестинскими беженцами произошло нечто противоположное. Они не только не были интегрированы в новую жизнь, но 650 000 человек с 1948 года превратились в 6 миллионов сегодня, и их число постоянно растет. Этот невероятный феномен является результатом деятельности и важнейшим достижением БАПОР. Чтобы оправдать собственное существование, агентство для начала «пересмотрело» критерии того, кто является палестинским беженцем. Сегодня ООН признает палестинским беженцем любого, чьи предки проживали на подмандатной территории до 1948 года, вне зависимости от того, где и когда такой «беженец» родился. Эта ситуация является уникальной в своем роде - вряд ли кому-то придет в голову считать, к примеру, сербскими беженцами потомков сербов, вынужденных бежать в Сербию из Косово в 1990-е годы. Или греческими беженцами - потомков полутора миллиона греков, бежавших из Турции в Грецию после распада Османской империи. Или потомков полумиллиона турок, бежавших в противоположном направлении. Или потомков 960 000 евреев, изгнанных и бежавших из арабских стран после образования Государства Израиль. Тем более никому не придет в голову требовать их «возврата» на места, где жили их предки. Но именно такая находчивость и постановка задачи позволяет БАПОР сохранять проблему палестинских беженцев вечно актуальной и обеспечивать ее редкую прибыльность. Приоритетным направлением деятельности БАПОР является формирование идентичности и самосознания «палестинского беженца». Для этого под видом образовательных программ в школах, управляемых агентством (а это фактически все школы в автономии и секторе Газа), детям с первого класса методично прививается антисемитизм, радикализм и ненависть к Израилю. Учебники, издаваемые БАПОР, прославляют терроризм и террористов -«героических мучеников». Высшей ценностью провозглашается готовность убивать евреев и погибать ради «палестинской идеи» - читай ради благополучия бюрократов БАПОР и функционеров ХАМАСа. «Быть палестинским беженцем прибыльно. Это стало статусной профессией, наследуемым неиссякаемым источником дохода. Поэтому 75% жителей Газы - беженцы, хотя родились они в Газе. За 75 лет своей деятельности БАПОР разрушило жизни и будущее нескольких поколений жителей Газы», Вот свидетельство 10-летней давности Бассама Эйда, основателя палестинской мониторинговой группы по правам человека. «Лагерь, в котором я вырос, как 58 других лагерей беженцев БАПОР, создан с единственной целью - сохранить арабский народ Палестины во «временных» условиях… Продолжение деятельности БАПОР зависит от смерти и страданий миллионов палестинцев, погрязших в лагерях БАПОР.

My mother-in-law is still traumatized from her experiences during WWII in Germany. Her city was destroyed 80% by Allied bombs. Tens of thousands of people died there. Many were innocent, children of course, but there were also many that were not innocent, because they voted for Hitler, and therefore made WWII possible. WW II killed 50,000,000 people. If it hadn´t been for UK, France, US and SU bombing cities , destroying the war industry, killing NAZIs and accepting at the same time that thousands of civilians were also killed, many children , maybe WW II would have ended 5 years later with 100,000,000 people killed. It´s war. This is what war does to mankind. So would you say the Allied forces should have stopped to destroy NAZI Germany after 10,000 civilians were killed? Or after 50,000 civillians killed? or after 1,000,000? For if there is a "limit" when you say "enough, because they are innocent", it would mean Hitler and his ideas had a right to stay for the sake of "innocent" Germans. Where would we be today? In a status quo, where Hitler´s successors still butcher people? Hamas is the problem, and the likes of Palestinain Djihad, Hizbullah, Iran. And Netanyahu is a problem too. He needs to go together with his Extremist friends.

It's been horrific for Israel for 75 years they have had to defend themselves. 1948 in the war of dependence, 1967 6-day war, 1973 Jom Kippur war. 1982 Lebanon war. It was Israel that was attacked. Israel did not start those wars. Unfortunately, Egypt could help the Gazan people, but they don't want to. No one in the Arab world wants to.

Since 1948 850,000 Jews had to leave Egypt, Syria, Algeria, Morocco, Jordan etc. Jews have been around for 3000 years. Christians for 2000 years. Muslim for 1400 years. There were 1.4 million Palestinians Muslim , Christian and Jewish) in 1948. Today there are 15,000,000 Palestinians living in the Middle East and around the world. And 15,000,000 Jews. War is a shame. The only way to stay safe in Gaza, West Bank , Lebanon, Israel is to get rid of Hamas, Palestinian Djihad, ISIS, Al nusra, Al Quaida.

This is completely disgusting but even more so it's hurtful... as I sit here in my privileged little apartment in the west where Im about as safe as can be, I wish there were some way I could let the people suffering in Gaza, the middle East and in Africa know that my heart goes out to them...
