Having a baby in their 30's is not what caused those women to live longer; they were a different population. Individuals who tend to wait to have children tend to be more educated and have healthier habits, which leads to their living longer.

Correlation isn't causation as others have said, so almost the entire video is a useless contortion of data. Though they didn't say wait until 30s, they said last child in their 30s. So someone can start in their 20s, and continue having children until their 30s. I don't know if that changes the conclusion though.

Yes exactly, it’s a matter of higher socio-economic status. Wealthier women tend to live in areas that encourage them to get a college education, including grad school and start a high-powered career. There tends to be more emphasis on travel, career advancement, and getting married before even thinking of having a child. They are also healthier on average. That is probably why the health issues weren’t as prevalent.

Not trying to slam you with words, but I wanted throw my take in at this gag - 30 really isn't that old. If people were all of a sudden only getting pregnant at 60-70. Then you should be worried (much less see how many of them would actually conceive successfully). 30 is a relatively good age to have kids honestly. Hypothetically speaking at that point in life you've got your life together, stabililty, possibly a degree or two, money, and your body/mind is more prepared. Truthfully, its a wonderful age to raise kids at and probably a lot healthier. People are beginning to live a lot longer so no wonder everyone is starting to have kids in later years. I doubt it will really put that much of a dent in the population. We're technically overpopulated as we speak so birth rates going down for a time isn't gonna kick us in the arse too hard. That's if it even manages to bring them down the slightest notch - which I doubt. Considering the video just said you're more likely to have twins at 30 which doubles the amount of kids.

Indeed parents that tend to wait instead of having a kid out right tend to be more stable (both in maturity and income) and have had the time to either do whatever they at one point wished to do or had plenty of time to work on thier careers and therefore are more stable to having a child with a good income to help and they can focus almost entirely on their children But as always it's a person's decision so it's up to them to choose wisely
@mercy50042 жыл бұрын
@@laurag8126 While you are correct on the education and career bit, I do have to say that there's no point in being so hostile. If someone wants to be an older parent, let them. Personally I enjoyed having younger parents growing up (well, to be fair my whole ass family is "younger", I still have great grandparent's knocking about and driving and I'm 26 lol) and I think that there's a lot of undue stigma of having kids "too young" (very very early 20's) that needs to be abolished. But, at the same time, I know some parents who had absolutely no business being parents in their 20's, and "missing out" on a pure wild time in their life caused them to go buck wild in their 30's and 40's ruining their kids and their own lives. If they had waited, they might have been able to get it out of their system before bringing kids into the mix. Some of my friends had older parents and loved/love them and the life that being "older parents" afforded them, and wouldn't have had it any other way. Yet, some other parent's I know if they had waited to be parents for too much longer... well... they wouldn't have been, or for some, they died just after having kids in their 30's-40's (one from a congenital defect and another from sepsis), leaving their kids with little to no memories of their parents whatsoever. There is no "time" to be a parent. Sometimes "growing up" means having the maturity to know yourself and what would be good for you, and your family. For me, that means a younger mom with a strong support network of family and friends to make up for less independent stability. For them, maybe that means being an older parent with more investment capital for their children under their belt, and their ducks squared in a row.

@@laurag8126 and it’s also a plus for a kid to come on earth in a financially and emotionally stable and ready household. Most people do not get their money game together before the late twenties-early thirties. And it takes 2 to procreate. Hence you also need to find a partner that’s on the same path as you. How do you get to know someone? By dating that person for a couple of months or even years ( as it’s recommended). She used to be quite the athlete and then like, 44 hit and she's never been the same. Meanwhile my grandmother had her kids young (20-24 when she gave birth) and was really spry up until cancer took her real fast in her 60's. Then my great grandfather (despite most of the men of the family dying relatively young) is kicking around at 93 still doing all his own yardwork, cooking, cleaning, etc. But my paternal grandfather didn't even make it to 34 (also cancer). I'm always glad to hear of older people staying healthy and spry...but there's a lot of young people who take that longevity for granted and think they are guaranteed to get that 80 sem-odd years lol. And that's because she spent her 20s going to college, treating herself, getting into a well paying job, travelling, etc

I know women in their mid 20s who are struggling with fertility So waiting could really hurt their chances In any case I think women should get their hormone levels and such tested every so often if they even slightly think they might eventually want children That way they can catch any imbalance early and work to balance it out as early as possible

I think the point of this video is that women don't need to feel rushed into having children at such a young age. Many women have been pressured from misinformation to have children before they were mentally and financially ready because of the dreaded clicking clock. If you are a mother in your 20's and that was your choice (ei. planned before conceiving) then be happy in your choice, then you were ready to be mother. Personally, I didn't feel like I reached "adulthood" until my 30's and I hate seeing children being raised by their grandparents because the mothers were still children themselves when they gave birth without understanding all that it entailed. Just my thoughts.
@amberphilip62735 жыл бұрын
I respect your thoughts 🙂 I can agree with the grandparent thing there are some parents who thing having a baby is all fun and games ... my point is that if you have enough money to pay for your home and raise your child as well as having some left over for holidays and treats in your 20’s with a loving partner then why wait. I have a 4 month old son and have enough money to support him and had fertility issues to conceive him also. It probably is slightly better financially to have your baby in your 30’s, my son still has everything he wants and needs tho. I feel it's less about age, more about the individual. I had my daughter at 20 and my twins at 22. All were planned. I never had any "freedoms to give up" because I was never the kind of person that partied, drank, smoked, had friends, etc. I know that if I didn't have my children when I did, then I wouldn't be the person I am now. Sure, maybe people in their 30s may have "more" experiences than people in their 20s, but raising children 24/7 is a whole other ball game at any age. You can't really fully "prepare" for it, because all children are different and offer up different pros and cons in raising them. But I will agree that, depending on what career path you've went down, it probably would be easier financially to wait.

Odds of getting pregnant in an entire year of trying at 40 are 36%. By 45 only 1 in 20 will get pregnant after a year. If you are married and relatively stable financially, I recommend you don't wait too long. Even if you have your first at 35 (only 1 in 2 get pregnant in a year), if you want to bless your child with a sibling at 37, it will statistically take a couple years or possibly not occur at all. If a couple has to pay for fertility treatments, there goes the money they saved by waiting to have children. I fear too many women may miss the blessing of children if they wait for the "perfect" time or pour everything into career only to find career will never love you back.

We wouldn't need a foster home system if everything always just fell into place according to some magical predestined plan. I feel that people who just talk about everything working out are really just relaying their own limited, biased experiences in the world.

@@maywalker997 @May Walker Hi! I totally understand where you're coming from, because it's true not everyone is able to cope well with their personal trials including having children. Sorry i didn't make it clear! As my message wasn't actually to take the reality of that struggle away rather make that struggle meaningful if that makes sense? 😊 I've come across a lot of horrible trials in my life thus far, as does everyone in their own different ways - but for me and my faith, accepting decreed timing (after trying your best efforts to plan too) doesn't mean pretending that life is rosy - it means removing the burden of life from our hearts by trusting in a bigger picture, something our fragile minds won't understand in the moment of it all. It means to actively try your best, and leave the rest to God. From how I've learned to see the world, we each have our own specific trials tailor made for us, in order to fight through it to become stronger mentally and spiritually, to exude beautiful yet active patience, and to become a better person out of them every time. Afterall, we're in this life for only a fleeting moment, it'll be like a dream - but a dream that counts ❤

@Lightskinlove that's a nice strawman you've built there. Maybe be a bit more charitable next time. i have no general advice, it depends on each person's specific situation. one advice i will give is to not wait until your thirties just because you believe that if you wait your child will be smarter or taller. He wont.

Yeah, besides the money point which just comes with age usually, I'm kinda suspicious of this... people used to claim your baby would get tons of diseases if you had them at 35 because the chances doubled. But it doubled from like .2 to .4 or something though, under 1% still

I’m 32 and pregnant with my second. Had my first when I was 25. This pregnancy is just as healthy as the first as far as gaining the right weight and everything going smoothly. My mental health is in a way better place now compared to my first pregnancy though.

Be careful when generalizing (in reference to the average income statistic). “Danish” study does not mean that the same can be said for the US because we have a different economy, like any other country in the world.

I'm from Spain and it's super weird to me that people have childs "so early" in USA, I think it's been normal here to have kids in your 30's rather than in your 20's for a long while (like several years or even a few decades).
@A__Mina5 жыл бұрын
As an American I can say that we are super impulsive. People want college degrees but don't practice safe sex, people welcome the challenge of being a full-time student and full-time parent, unnecessary stress. You don't have to start your family in your 30s but at least make having kids young make sense.
@poppyparanormal21895 жыл бұрын
How is the sex education in Spain? Here it’s very nonexistent.

And Spain is broke, families produce wealth whem men have families work harder, you have the lowest birthrate of Europe and will leave the Country to Muslims women and their children.
@froyokid5 жыл бұрын
Moises Antonio Frías Taveras LOL Most wealthy countries, the women have more freedoms, marry later, and give birth in their 30s. In poorer less stable countries like Latin America and certain parts of the USA with a certain demographic, older men prey on young girls and impregnate them by the time they are 15 but I bet you see no problem with that.
@moisesbeyond5 жыл бұрын
Spain has the lower birthrate of Europe....it is going to dissapear in a few years , 15 is not the right age but neither 40.....between 23-28 is the best for every one..for women for men and for society...of course women dont care about their society Spain is another proof of it.

Having my first this summer and I am 22! This was NOT the original plan, but my husband and I are in a great place to raise kids (he’s 27). Emotional maturity, a house, savings (financial stability). I did want to live another year or two without children, but I can say I am really excited to start this season of life. I feel blessed. And honestly, I don’t think anyone feels ready to have kids. I have amazing parents and two sets of grandparents who can help us along the way.🥰

From a mom who has had kids in early twenties and early thirties, let me tell you. Having kids in your twenties are sooooo much easier on your body! You bounce back a lot easier and you have a lot more energy. If you are financially able, have kids in your twenties!
@christingonzalez96423 жыл бұрын
You wont know the difference though if you wait. Plus you were probably more tired because you had your older kids to take care of while being pregnant.
@godsgirl72013 жыл бұрын
That's depending on if u have a c section or not I didn't bounce back fast I had a c section at 24 if I was 30 and had vaginal probably would've bounced back quicker than having a c section
@clicksandcrochets29293 жыл бұрын
Definitely wasn’t the tiredness, it was my body being older, it didn’t tolerate pregnancy as well as when I was younger.

Not to cheat with other women because they are 10x more beautiful than me 😅😂
