I am so happy to watch this!!!! I love your channel and we love watching you in our home here in San Francisco CA. We love hearing your comments and stories while you are making your delicious foods. I personally appreciate how much I have been hearing you speak Spanish-Spanglish- porque its better que nada, right? Andale! Sometimes I make something from your cookbook and then I watch the video of the recipe I cooked. Its like you are right here in our house talking about the food that I made from your recipe and am eating. You can talk as much as you like as far as I am concerned. You are so loving and so proud of your family and your recipes. You are so down to earth and easy to watch and follow. Thank you so much for sharing all of your knowledge, even if it is not directly related to the food! It just makes it feel like you are right here- en vivo, y en persona! My mother used to draw a knife through the rolled out dough to make square shapes for Christmas biscochitos. Then she would form each cookie into shapes. 1) mariposa to represent the resurrection of Christ 2) a corona for Christ the King 3) flor de lis -don’t remember what that represents and 4) I can’t for the life of me remember what the forth shape was. I’m hoping that someone knows about this old tradition and will fill in the missing shape and its symbolism.

Hello. First time watching your videos. I wanted to make biscochitos. My mom used to make them years ago. She’s gone to heaven 7 months ago. 😢. But I never learned to make them. How can I get your cook book. I live in aurora Colorado but I’m from Las Vegas NM. My cousin is the owner at Smilies restaurant.

Hi Margaret, this is Gina, your former neighbor, 😊 and I searched for best bizochito recipes and your channel came up !❤ so what do I do for high altitude in CO? I tried to make some tonight and they are too thin, but i am destined to make a good batch for my neighbors. ❤ Thanks!

Hi Gina, it is so nice to hear from you, give me a call and I will walk you through the process, you will have to adjust for higher altitude, and it’s all about the lard when baking biscochitos 😀 here are a few steps in high altitude baking for Colorado Use 1/4 tsp of baking soda instead of 1/8 tsp. Use 1 Tbsp of sugar instead of 2 Tbsp. Add more water, maybe 3 more Tbsp. Add 2 to 4 more Tbsp of flour. Up your oven temperature by 15 to 25 degrees Fahrenheit www.nmcookbookmariabaca.com

Good morning. I was pleasantly surprised to find your channel. Last night we went to a neighbor's house for a get together and they didn't mind the thin and crispy bizchochitos. LOL But I am determined to make a better batch! A friend is coming over on the 13th and we are going to experiment. Thank you for the steps for high altitude and I will let you know how they turned out! Take care and Merry Christmas @@MargaretsKitchenNM 🎄🏂❄☃

Your cookbook asks for 3 Tablespoons of baking powder, it should be 3 teaspoons, correct. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁
