Her "Oh ho ho" laugh that you noticed is actually a pretty old trope, the Ojou-sama laugh. A ton of villianesses in Sailor Moon do that laugh, for example but it started in manga in the 1970s

A lot of manga you'll find are originally sourced from LN. Such in this case of this anime, it started off as LN, gained a manga, and then was made into an anime. @@calxiyn It's an isekai anime about a girl being reborn in a dating sim otome game also with elemental powers, but instead of being the protagonist, she realizes she is the villain of the game doomed to exile or death depending on the route the protagonist goes down. She has the video game pretty much memorized and tries to stop her fate by befriending everyone and ends with a harem of men and women. It's very cute, silly, and chaotic. The main character is such a lovable protagonist.

Check out Hamefura if you haven't yet, it's also a subversive isekai of a dating Sim but the protagonist is the villainess, it's ridiculous and funny, and idk what else to call it but it sure as heck ain't straight.

If you want saphic Isekai, there is Shokei Shojo no Virgin Road, though it doesn’t really get gay until after where the anime left off but the novels are worth a read. It’s actually my favorite Isekai because it’s FMA levels of storytelling in a fucking Isekai

I don't usually like dubs, but honestly, the voice cast for the English dub of this show is HILARIOUS, especially Rei's actor, they have such chaotic energy - plus it's great to hear nonbinary and trans voice actors. Give it a chance if you ever re-watch old episodes!

I’ll talk about this next week but something that I didn’t mention in the video (because I didn’t realize that Rae died), was that she died from overwork and that may be a commentary on capitalism. Obviously a monarchy and capitalism aren’t the same but I wonder if there will be a peasant uprising that Rae can relate to and be the mediator for. Like she’s the one that tries to negotiate between the peasant world and the Royal world.

@@calxiyn wow, you're going in the right direction with a lot of things in history 😆. I really like how various political issues are addressed, including class issues later on. In many Isekais it is common for the main character to die in some way, some accidental and others due to illness. In Rae's case,just like some other animes also talk about, It is a criticism of the excessive work and workload that the Japanese tend to have. I'm glad you noticed that later. The author always makes many reflections on the current modern world with the construction of the world of this game.Always talking about the good and bad sides of each. In addition to always saying that it is from the perspective of a Japanese person in relation to this :) I eagerly await your videos about the next episodes ✨

My wife and I couldn't watch the eps until tonight (finally!) and they totally nailed it. I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to watch one of my main reaction channels react to it cold.
