I can't believe how this show went from an indie pilot to a full-blown programme picked up by Amazon. Everyone give Vivzie and the team the praise they deserve! I love how they actually added depth to why Charlie wants to rehabilitate the sinners. It's not some 'I can fix them' mentality that borders on savior complex. She cares about the sinners cause her mother did, no matter how bad they are. Like Lilith, Charlie sees something in them that's worth a second chance.

THIS is a strong start for Hazbin! Like the pilot, Charlie’s cause to rehabilitate the damned is laughed out not just by reporter Katie Killjoy, even Adam as well. Despite all that, he clearly holds a strong grudge against them with the latest twist involving one of his archangels being killed.

This show is absolutely amazing so far. Great characters, banger songs, an intriguing story with massive stakes, I can't wait to see where it all goes. Also, I like how the angels are portrayed as more evil than the demons. And that they say these demons "earned their damnation" when Adam was the one who committed the original sin. If anyone deserves to be stuck in Hell forever, it's him.

IDK if this is common knowledge, but in the KZbin pilot, Vaggie said like 2 phrases in Spanish, but both were barely audible. The first one was when she, Charlie, and Angel were in the car together and Angel told her not to "get [her] tacos in a twist," which was a racially-motivated insult. Her line was "Come mierd@, [grumbled, inaudible angry insults]!" which translates to "Eat $hit, [grumbled, inaudible angry insults]." Her other line was geared at Alastor in the pilot. She called him a "Cabr0n hijo de p3rra," which means "B@stard son of a b!tch." (As a human, he was born to a Creole mother and white father in the extremely-segregated 1800s in New Orleans. His parents were unwed and his mom had to raise him by herself bc his dad abandoned them due to racism.) She was always supposed to be Latina. According to Vivziepop, Vaggie is Salvadoran (like Viv.)

He's the better cook of the Hazbin crew. He also has a twin sister named Molly; both of them are named after the drugs they overdosed on when they died. Angel's real name is Anthony.

Honestly I even find Lucifers punishment in the lore of Hazbin to be more symbolic and fitting than in the original Biblical narrative. If angels by nature are Good and their role is to inspire/guide humans than it makes total sense that for Lucifer it would be painful to be imprisoned in a place where as a result of his actions only the consequences are seen instead of the potential light that every soul contains within itself. Also guess that makes him the first sinner instead of Adam who became an angel (according to the show).

Now, before I say what I'm about to say, I am enjoying the show. I love the characters and what they're trying to do, and the fact this exists in the first place is a monumental step for Viv, her team, and indie animation as a whole! Truly, it's an exciting time to watch this. An issue I have, without spoiling, this feels less like a Season 1, and more like a Season 2. Your reaction being a prime example, you know exactly what these characters are like from interviews and creator details, but casual fans aren't going to know stuff like that when they're watching, so when they just watch the pilot and then this, they're gonna have base knowledge without the "Why is Alastor so against TV? How did Angel get into the situation with Val? Who are all the Overlords?" I'm hoping it's just a four episode problem, as I do genuinely like this show, but I can't deny that it expects EVERYONE who watches to do their homework from the most obscure places

To be fair, there really is no need to watch anything other than the pilot before this to understand everything ; also, not trying to be mean at all, but the questions you asked are either irrelevant (as in their answer isn't that important to the plot) or are answered in later episodes ; for example, "why Alastor is so against TV" he's the Radio Demon and has beef with Vox who's TV (which is explored in episode 2) and there really is no need to know more ; "Who are the overlords" - it gets explored in episode 3 and from what it appears will be explored later ; and "How did Angel get into this situation with Val" well he gave his soul to him, which is explored in episode 4 as he was allured into a toxic relationship he cannot leave. Really, you do not need to read interviews or character analysis to understand what's going on, we're not supposed to have all the answers right away

I’ve only seen part of ONE of the many many livestreams, interviews, Q&A’s, etc, and the part that I saw was literally just Vivzie drawing while the actors goofed around and said funny stuff in the background. Nothing to do with the story itself. I’m sure there’s like, Easter eggs and wink wink types of things for ppl who did read/watch all that outside stuff but you don’t HAVE to know all that in order to be able to enjoy it lol

I know that I, for one, absolutely LOVED the episode. We got some great Chaggie moments (and they are my Hazbin Hotel OTP, so I was VERY happy), we got a confirmation about how long it's been since the pilot, we got to see more of all the characters (including Husk and Niffty, neither of which we saw much of in the pilot), and we got some INCREDIBLE musical numbers. I know for a fact that Happy Day in Hell will be in my head for a while (or at least until another song from later gets stuck in my head). I've only seen the first episode so far, but I fully intend to watch the next three later today. Loved the reaction!

This season really showed me how freakishly similar me and angel dust are, we even have the same name! I love the way this show portrays religion and heaven, as a religious person it genuinely makes me happy, because there are so many terrible religious people out there, so it’s nice to see a fresh perspective and one we can all appreciate.

I just came here after watching the first 4 episodes! Without saying too much, I ABSOLUTLY LOVED IT. I always loved to see how Helluva did evolved over the years and how it got production-wise even better and better (I always found it very good but I think one can see that now there were not only new skills but also experience and also probably greater funds behind the production). Especially in S2 there were - music-wise - so many bangers, it was like it was getting better and better. I personally still hear "2 Minutes Notice" from Fizz on repeat. And here in Hazbin Hotel - it right off starts with the niveau off Helluva S2. The animation and characters are just so great, and I love how we also go straight into the story and character-development. Every episode has at least one song and THEY ARE JUST SO DAMN GOOD. This is just a high-quality show and I hope the creator crew gets all the recognition and praise they deserve. Thanks so much for this! After waiting so long after the Pilot Episode it just felt like coming home. Alastor and Angel are still my two faves and coming back at full force of their charm. As an Ace person I also enjoy Alastor even more - or maybe one more reason why I love him so much. And I'm staying strong in the Angel defensive squad. We ride at dawn if Cherri lits the beacon

re: "Catching on", Adam is (as it turns out, correctly) presuming that only one Exorcist corpse means that whoever killed the angel was doing a one-off and not an organized effort. So he's not making an immediate all-out attack because he doesn't want the rest of Hell wondering 'Wait, what are the angels upset about?' and going looking for the answer themselves, while still upping the Extermination frequency to hopefully nip whatever this was in the bud. Not that this stopped the Vees from investigating the death anyway, but Adam was at least trying to have a plan.

Yeah, i think the main change with Alastor i noticed was a difference in the type of radio filter they used, this one was more… chopped and tight feeling, while the old one was more deep and encompassing, so like 90s radio static vs the old wood bodied tube radios of the 30s

I've been told by other reactors that the first episode it's the best and that you should watch the second before deciding. Having watched the first 4 episodes I can say yes the show is amazing. Also Nifty is my favorite, the perfect combo of hyperactive, crazy, and diligent. Hell is Forever is my favorite song so far. This series is a musical with adult Disney vibes.

I think the reason Angel has a genuine interesf in Husk, even if just platonic, is specifically becahse Husk shows absolutely no signs of interest in him, even the oppisite, so he's got less worries that he'll take advantage of him like so many others have. And Husk is seeing his past mistakes in angel and don't want him to go down the same path that destroyed him, so he actively discourages him from endulging in his vices by shooting down every adnvance

Dude Elijah you had the same reaction as me, I legit could not stay still I was too excited (and yeah no I am definitely a mixture of Chaggie)- I legit just binge watched it and can't wait for the next episodes. So far it's AMAZING and I am so mad at my friends right now because they won't even give it a shot and they are saying "Helluva Boss is better" like at least give it shot! I think Adam was already planning to cut short the time without Charlie's meeting. Like, it wasn't just petty 'in your face' decision.
