The title alone caught my eye and decided to give it a world. As a child in school, vday was celebrated with candy and treats. Yet as an adult, I've always shunned it. I never liked going into stores seeing boxes of chocolate, roses, and so much more. Part truth. The other part is the guys named Saint Valentine who were martyred for their belief in Jesus Christ. Roman soldiers were given hearts to put on their armor and shields to represent their beloved Christian martyrs. The martyrdom of the Saint Valentines were combined with the old pagan festival of Lupircalia which was an orgy celebration. As the Roman's embraced Christianity and Saint Valentines zeal for the Christ, we have the holiday as its celebrated today. Another Christian pagan holiday.
