I just learned bout Bishop Nehru, and he has intelligence for real. His taste in music is nice.He's similar to Joey Bad b/c he's into that old school east coast flow, and he raps in a witty and lyrical manner too. I can tell Nehru and Joey both rep the state of NY to the fullest. Joey is mad lyrically talented and conscious.He does his research and all that.Some of Joey's influences are the same as some of Nehru's influences: MF Doom,Nas,Jay-Z,& Biggie. happy to see he understands the culture and background to the name Nehru and being an Indian to me it seems like he follows alot of the same principles. Most rappers will just throw some unique sounding names with syllable structure together and call themselves that without knowing the origin or meaning behind the actual name. I look at Bishop and I see more raw talent, like an unshaped pile of clay that with the help and mentorship of Nas and DOOM can become something truly special (you can already see the progression with NehruvianDOOM). Joey has his fair share of cosigns too (Buckshot, Jay-Z, Statik, 9th Wonder, etc.) but we can both agree that there are many MC's/Producers who think these two are sick but just haven't said it as like a media statement. But I feel Joey is farther along is his progression, and when he dropped 1999 he didn't sound as raw, like he had already had experience flowing like that. But like I said, both are sick and I'll be coping everything they put out (through authorized dealers of course!). And they both have so much growing to do, too early to be calling him a Nas already though.
