I was an atheist until I was 21, and entered the Catholic Church mostly due to the work of these two priests. Now I'm a seminarian, and I pray I will be able to bless other people the way Bp. Barron and Fr. Mike have blessed me.

I'm a cradle Catholic, but lived in sin most of my life. Went to Sunday mass, but didn't pray and hated confession. 2 years ago, I felt called to regular confession and ended up at the beautiful Basilica of St Jospephat in Milwaukee that has daily mass and confession in the morning before work. The Fransiscan priest at confession said to ask God for the grace to avoid sin. That moment freed me from 35 years of habitual sin and after that my eyes were opened and I knew Jesus was present in the Eucharist. That moment changed and saved my life. I love confession now and I want to spend as much time with Jesus as I can: prayer, daily mass, rosary, spiritual reading, adoration. And I got to see both of these amazing men at the National Eucharistic Congress.

Please pray for Catholic communities in Islamic countries. I'm currently studying in a north African country. Our priest is also a priest to another parish that's about 4 hours away. We thank God for him, and other religious, for his fervour to serve the Lord, celebrate mass and see to the spiritual needs of Christians in both communities. We've been expecting another priest for a while now, but it's a struggle to get a visa as a priest in a country that's over 95% Muslim. Please keep, our parish, as well as those who might not have priests, in your prayers.

20+ years ago, my wife was so angry with God as she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. When I asked her if she would like me to call our parish and ask for one of the priests to come over for the Anointing of the Sick, she wanted nothing to do with having someone to come into our home. Fr. Ron was called out for an emergency at the hospital, but Fr. Roger said he would just drop in on her as a visitor. I have no idea what was said or what happened that day, but she found peace in her suffering. And at her funeral mass, Fr. Roger spoke of her willingness to accept God's grace and mercy.

My first confession was at the the age of 32 after referring to myself as "Raised-Catholic-but..." most of my adult life. I think I caught my Pastor off guard as it was during a routine, Wednesday confession time. After unloading three decades worth of sin on him, he asked me a few follow up questions, then said, "that's a good confession." For my penance, he asked me to read the parable of the prodigal son and reflect on what the Lord is saying. 2 days after my 33rd birthday, I received the Body of Christ for the first time. I was a blubbering mess. My cousin/sponsor reminded me that was crying those same tears after waiting all this time for me to receive Him. All glory to God!

This conversation is such a blessing. When Fr. Mike was speaking about the Protestant who uses music to incite emotions towards feeling repentant and then feeling forgiven, this exactly mirrored my own experience as a Protestant, before my conversion, where I'd be crying in my room listening to Hillsong music or something, FEELING like I have a great sorrow for my sins, making all sorts of apologies, and then ending that emotional roller coaster with something light and uplifting so I can convince myself this is how we can "trust" - or as the Protestants would say, be assured - that I'm forgiven. Man...I can't tell you how EXCITED and absolutely horrified I was leading up to and during my first Confession lol I remember kneeling down and my heart was beating so hard and so fast that I could hear it effecting my speech with every word I said to my Priest! And Bishop Barron is right, it's not much easier now, and it SHOULDN'T be easier now. I've done something gravely wrong, I'm confessing that to a Priest before God, and it's something that I should feel bad about. God's wrath could wipe me away like I never existed, and yet instead He chooses mercy and forgiveness, and that's equally beautiful as it is terrifying. Thank you for having this talk Fr. Mike and Bishop Barron, and for inspiring converts like me to take the leap and come home to the Church!

Bishop Barron and Fr. Mike are precious gifts of God to His Church. Thank you for this beautiful video. 26:29 "God if you want me to be a priest, I'll hear their confession anytime they'll ask." After hearing this from Fr. Mike, I paused watching and heartily prayed and offered my life to Jesus. Asking Him, if He wills it -- it would be a joy to become a priest and becomes a means of His grace to His people. I told Jesus, "Here I am, send me!" I was crying while lifting my hands in the air as an act of surrender. Ended my prayer by asking Mama Mary's powerful intercession. Currently, I am a full-time missionary for a youth Catholic movement called Christ's Youth in Action. I don't what the Lord has in store for me to the years to come but my prayer is "Thy will be done."

I started going to weekly confession after being away from the Church for 12 years. After finishing my Penance in front of the Blessed Sacrament, I prayed for someone who was (unknown to me) deceased, and was granted a vision of him. I haven't told many people about this, because I thought ordinary people didn't have visions. But many people online have told about their visions of deceased relatives and friends,so I think it's more common than I once believed. It was a wonderful experience I don't think I would have had if I hadn't gone to Confession.

Every encounter is an invitation for another encounter! Embrace your gift, and please talk about it more! This is only the beginning! This is how God has caused me to chase after Him, too. This was an answered prayer, in response to my weeping and asking the Most Sorrowful Mother how to not become burned out nor ever fail/abandon Jesus ever again (after my inconstancy and lukewarm faith [that I didn't realize was/is the root issue until recently] due to the pandemic closures of churches and having to sign up to go to Mass, etc., which only fueled me to drift farther away on a sea of excuses.) This is the month dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory! You may have been given a special grace to communicate with them, and pray for those most in need! I pray The Chaplet of Divine Mercy for all poor souls, including many of my deceased loved ones. That, alone, has given me such peace to trust in God's unfathomable Mercy, to save every soul prayed for! When you pray for the poor souls in Purgatory, Know that they pray for you! I hope that you will get to meet this soul, and become friends, in heaven! As St. Padre Pio says: "We must empty Purgatory!" What an abundance of graces you've been blessed with! You are very close to The Blessed Mother! May God bless you, and our Lady keep you! 🙏🏻❤✝️🤍😇🕊

I changed up my nightly prayer routine. I used to intersperse my own thoughts and such with the traditional set of prayers I would say every night. Now I start with a dialogue between God and myself. Then I say the traditional prayers (Our Father, Glory Be, Hail Mary etc.). I really like it because it gives me a chance to reflect and focus. I call it "Our Time." Outside of being better ordered, I find it helps me sleep better at night. But that's me. I need to do a better job with morning prayers. Still a work in progress after all this time.

The opening by Fr. Mike really hit me, my dad died last year on December 19th days before Christmas, the whole month leading up to it during Advent was we mostly knew. We didn't have the funeral and wake till after Christmas, and the feast took on a whole new dimension while dealing with it all.

I love the good night prayer! I’m 67 years old and I’ve said it every night, unless I have forgotten or fall asleep too fast. My mother, who’s in memory care now, wrote down a night prayer for me from her childhood that she used to say to us when we were children. Don’t know if you have heard it or know where it comes from? ‘Good night, dear Jesus. Before I leave Thee, my heart still lingers at Thy shrine. Before the lamp that burns before Thee, I pray this lonely heart of mine. With angel choirs in yonder Heaven, I join each breath of mine tonight. Let me rest on Thy dear bosom till darkness turns to light. Goodnight, my God, my Love, my Savior. Someday I shall Thy beauty see. In this blest hope, good night, dear Jesus. I go to sleep to dream of Thee.’ If you could somehow let me know through a response to this? Thank you and God bless both of you! I love listening to your podcasts and sermons. Becky ❤️🙏🏼

I was confirmed 2 years ago. I'm 70 today. Wasn't a cradle Catholic. But I do intend on having a Happy Death with Jesus, Mary and Joseph at my side. I am ecstatic to be going to the Kingdom of God. Scared? Of course! But it's a Holy fear of knowing have I done my utter best to increase the harvest? The failings I'm correcting NOW in This Life are idle words and wasting time. My health permitting because I'm soon to depart. But Christ has given me Peace and enthusiasm to proclaim His Divine Mercy. I feel 20 years old. And probably off my rocker. I'm dying and I am going home. Psalm 130 is written into me. I admire you both and pray daily for our Shepard's. I'm just beginning and the majority of folks think I'm kookoo. Hahahahahaha. It's Joy. We are an Easter people and Halleluia is our song. Right, JPII?

Pausing at the beginning to share something that helped me so much...years ago I realized how stagnant and sporadic my prayer life had become. I started doing two things -- I went back to saying bedtime prayers every night and also made a point to thank God for things randomly throughout my day (for example, when I admired the sunset, I would very purposefully thank God for His beautiful painting). Getting back to bedtime prayers habit helped me bring back daily prayers in general. Those thank yous through out the day helped me get more conversational with God and also to nourish a positive aspect to our relationship instead of only turning to Him when things go wrong. I've come a long way since then, but that's where my journey back to Him started.

The priests at my church are overwhelmingly busy. I asked a priest if someone could hear my confession after Mass one day. (I wasn’t demanding he himself do it.) His answer was a harried, “Now?!” There are no times posted for confessions at my church. Now I feel bad asking. It seems clear that such a request is just adding to their burden. The other priest rushes out the side door immediately after Mass and disappears. 😢

What a gift to see these two amazing priest having a conversation! Thank you, Ascension. I would have never thought any priest, especially a bishop, would be nervous hearing confessions. I feel better now about being nervous before and during confession...you can even hear it in my voice. I have been blessed to attend conferences where Bishop Barron and Fr. Mike were the main speakers and also to attend Mass presided by the both of them. It truly warmed my heart that they both say the child's bedtime prayer. I think that was the very first prayer I was taught as a child.

It was comforting to me to hear that Bishop Barron still gets nervous going to confession. I have gone regularly about once a month for about 5 years. I’m 61 years old and would feel down on myself that I still feel nervous about going to confession. Even though I would feel a weight lifted off of me after I came out of confession. This video was quite reaffirming to me in every way.✝️
