One thing is imo missing from this Video: AL's Scherzo of Iron and Blood Boss theme ("Bismarck's Last Stand" i believe). For me it is at least as much Bismarck's Theme as Sabaton's Bismarck.

Me when underfunded navy leaves the Bismarck to do a solo (practically suicide) mission against the biggest (need to fact check) navy in the world Granted, the Bismarck did sink a few boats, namely the HMS Hood, but it got its rudder f*cked by a biplane and all of its AA missed, it got harassed by an angry Polish destroyer, and then was later sunk. TL;DR Bismarck good, but not that good, and it was doomed to fail since the Kriegsmarine was no where near any position to properly support it -USS Texas stan

⁠​⁠@@santiagoperez3024Bismarck did have Prinz Eugen for much of her mission (Eugen only turned back after they fought Hood and Prince of Wales) and when Biscuit and Eugen were first spotted by the Swedish she also had a destroyer escort. Also in regards to her suicide mission, earlier that year Gneisenau and Scharnhorst made a break into the Atlantic and sank a considerable amount of merchant ships without the British being able to successfully counter them, so Bismarck and Eugen were attempting to replicate that success. Of course the British were not going to let that happen again so they bolstered patrols along in three Atlantic, which contributed to the failure of Bismarck’s mission. Sorry for the history rant. You’re still right in your assessment I just wanted to be a pedantic prick and add context. 😅

@@rudatkatzn9171 first off, this is a friend who said this, not me, second if you compare the Bismarck to Jormungandr via comparing it's voyage to Jormungandr's fights...not really. The Jormundgandr appears twice, both times fighting Thor, and killing Thor on there second encounter as it died. The Bismarck encounters the British twice, going down in the second encounter with the difference here being hood had already been killed. It's not exact, but it's close.

@@cideltacommand7169 well i played Legends version of WoWs and things are not that good for german bbs, fire spam literally burns you and also your motivation to play, massive health pool but a full salvo even from a heavy cruiser deals 8-13k damage, and if we talk about a tier 7-8 like Bismarck or FDG, they only 8 shells for 1 full salvo, yes its not a big difference since most of the bbs of the same tier like Iowa has 9, but the dispersion is the problem, sometimes you can hit 3/4 of your shell and sometimes all of them hit but f#cking ricochet. and im guessing its the same situation for PC version, i may be wrong tho so feel free to correct me.

Is it just me, or is it weird how Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, Bismarck’s predecessors, don’t get an epic song even though they completely did much more than Bismarck, while Bismarck gets a song when she didn’t accomplish much

It’s partially because the Bismarck was the pride of the German navy, partially because Bismarck sank HMS Hood, Pride of the British Navy, and the manner in which Bismarck went out, fighting till the ship could fight no more. Compare to Gneisenau… Guns removed and never replaced. Scharnhorst’s end was more fitting of a Song, the Battle of the North Cape was quite the show, but she didn’t achieve the same level of drama that Bismarck achieved with the sinking of Hood.

Scharnhorst fought till the last stand, even when she was blinded and suffered many torpedo blows. Bismarck on the other hand, even with functional radar and much better statistics than the Scharnhorst class, failed to destroy a single biplane and failed to land a single hit on any British ship during her final battle

@@zornxottx it’s less about “How much” or more about what was sunk. The sinking of Hood reverberated around the world. Scharnhorst’s service record? Sinking a barely escorted and out of position aircraft carrier, defenseless merchant ships, getting repeatedly bombed while in dry dock for repairs at Brest, and then getting sunk while failing to accomplish anything. There was certainly a military impact, but none of it is particularly headline grabbing except for her sinking. If you were to open a general history book and look for information about the Naval war between Britain and Germany, you would probably find details of Bismarck’s final journey. Scharnhorst on the other hand might not be mentioned at all.

​​@@zornxottxthe reason why bismarck got the attention it instead of graf spee or scharnhorst was that how big of a boom for british it was sinking a pride of german navy eventually "revenging" their pride of fleet and what butthurt the bismarck caused after the battle with hood It was not about the tonnage sank from convoy raids (yes basically bismarck was deployed after idk if gnisesnau or scharnhorst now got their shine with their raids) it was about a message and drama caused by it

Fun fact: The cause of the Bismarck's death in the battle with the british was low moral and lack of sleep caused by a Polish ship that fired its guns at it, played loud music, threw trash to the Bismarck and the crew of said started screaming *_"I am a Pole!"_* .
